As not so great as I think Hurts is he is still better then Dak coming out of college and would be a solid backup for this team.

I’m not a fan in general but if you like Dak there is no reason to not like Hurts.

Anything is better than Super Duper Cooper Rush at backup. If Hurts is available in the 3rd, why not take him?

They do. They both are what I would call running QB's. If a QB thinks he's a good runner, he'll end up holding the ball too long. He thinks he can easily get away from one of these DLinemen if one of them breaks free. And that's how they end up near the top of the league in sacks.

The specific haters I’m referring to would prefer a QB other than Dak or Mahomes. That I can promise you.

It’s actually only a few posters who I have in mind. A very small minority.

One of them is a total piece of trash with a Kid Rock avatar. He said he’d never accept Dak as our QB no matter what.

Jalen Hurts cannot play QB folks. He is a good leader. He has a strong arm. That does not matter in the NFL. He CANNOT read defenses. He CANNOT anticipate throws. He is sometimes blind out there. And runs when given the chance. He is just an awful QB.

He has somewhat impressive stats only bc he spent his entire college career throwing to Calvin Ridley and CeeDee Lamb. Oklahoma is a system. They only produce system QBs. Mayfield? Bust. Murray? Bust

The things you mentioned are just like the current starter here. That’s funny how folks saying he can’t play but when the same things are said about Alex Smith Jr everybody is a hater.

Well stated CATCH17, if the front office doesn't make tough decisions at QB today, they are going to have to make much, much tougher decisions later at QB that will be even more harmful to the team. The poison pill has to be taken at some point. Either way, somebody has to die!

I'm a firm believer in not messing with what's working, but I'm also a firm believer in improving what you're doing when you ain't messing up something. If bringing Hurts in this year means the Cowboys aren't held hostage next year by Todd France and Qak, then do it.

I sure said it and you are still too dense to know why. I don’t have to like Dak because of your baseless accusations. The best QBs in league history have been similar to Brady, Manning, Brees, Etc. Great pocket passers with accuracy, leadership and they have the ability to improve everyone around them. Dak or Hurts are not in line with that style. Look beyond the race baiting and you can see that. I have higher expectations than you apparently.

If Dak goes down, what does this team look like with Cooper Rush at the helm? No one knows for sure but I can't imagine it looks more promising than having Hurts in there.
