I like what he said about TE's...blocking ability shouldnt take guys like Jarwin off the field if they can do something with the ball

I was thinking the same thing. Pure Blocking TEs not necessary in his plan. Also liked how his backs could run the middle but if teams keyed they could move out and catch

Did anyone follow DJ's twitter and listen to the podcast where he talked about the defense? Most wasn't that revolutionary, your physical types BB likes, can't get knocked off the ball, etc. But on the secondary he said big slow safeties were useless, you need one cover corner, and most of all, they had to all work together like an offensive line. I've never heard that before but it makes sense. Like DJ said a coach told him, most everyone has separate safety and corner rooms, so they don't even meet together.

What five things makes a defense fail?
1. Bad tackling
2. Selfishness
3. Not big and tough enough
4. Not competitive (What does a guy do on PATs?)
5. Lack of symmetry

How many of those did we fail last year?

Belichick's too smart of a guy to not adjust his approach over 30 years - what you see from 1991 isn't necessarily what he's doing now. I still think he's big on the inside-out approach though.

He clearly makes a defense have to defend the middle of the field.
