Exactly. 2 years ago. And you're telling other fans to let it go.

Yes.. he was offered the contract two years ago that the other poster was saying he didn't get offered.

You need to keep up, you're falling behind in the conversation or something. Be better.

Would be a move made for the fans that could really pay off on the field as well.
Certainly won't cost much and if you are signing guys like Aldon Smith hard to argue Dez is a bad guy.

Go ahead Jerry and give us quarantined fans this one.

Dez is gonna be resigned most likely. He’ll be #4 receiver (Amari’s backup) and could see some time as a receiving TE. But finding a slot guy in the draft is still vital.

Yeah I get all of that, but who cares? It was 2 years ago. That's the point!
Do you need the Cliff Note version?

Why on Earth would you think Bryant could remotely play the TE position?

I agree. I'm actually surprised to see as much negative reaction to giving Dez a chance. It feels like there was less of a negative reaction to the Aldon Smith signing.

I can't see the harm in bringing Dez in for training camp and seeing what - if anything - he's got left. Right now, this team has two legit wide receivers on its roster.

Big strong body and is a terrific jump ball guy. I don’t think he can block. He’d just be an extra receiver in certain formations. Faux TE is a better description.

No he won't. He doesn't run more than 1 route and won't play special teams. Thus the young guys will do that.

I'll take all of them. If I want to watch choir boys I'll go to church.
Well said Jimmy.

It's called an oxymoron.

A weird assumption based on non-logic.

That's my definition..not Funk and Wagner's.

I have to say that becuz some here will accuse me of lying otherwise.

Which to them completely disqualifies one to make meaningful comments around here.

It's a conundrum.

Another big word
That's not true. Ravens, Browns and some other NFC east teams wanted him and the Saints actually did sign him. So your comment about no team in 2 years have contacted him is false. Besides, unless you are monitoring his phone calls how do you know if teams have called him or not?
It's easy to defend an assumption.

Just hang out here for awhile.

It's a freakin' art form.

I've seen him run slants, outs, curls and comebacks as well as the fade and post.

Well, they need to restock the scapegoats.
I'll never understand why releasing a player that was felt to no longer be worth his pay level is scapegoating. Teams do it all the time - all across the NFL.

I think it's simply easier to suggest when there's no other excuse that one will except.

He's already working out with Dak too.

Looking at our depth chart, he's already our 3rd best WR:

Cedrick Wilson
Devin Smith
Ventell Bryant
Noah Brown
Tevin Jones
Jon'Vea Johnson
Lance Lenoir

It's happening Zoners. And I could envision him being a redzone monster vs a 3rd CB, LB, or S.

Instead of getting in the redzone, offense stalls, then settling for a FG... Nope. Throw up the X! :flagwave:

I don't know if there is one player on that depth chart that I would be worried about not bringing back.

It wasn't like they just released an underperforming player, like how we just let the Golden Cock walk a few years ago because he just stunk as a 1T.

Prior to being released, there was clear friction between Dak and Dez. There wasn't much chemistry between the two and you could see that in the play. Dez was starting to get more frustrated with his use in the offense and how Dak was more of a spread it around guy. When Dez got cut, it was clear that, at some level, they were saying Dak was their future and Dez was really the source of the issues between the two on the field.

I think it's a bit disingenuous to suggest they just cut Dez because they didn't want to pay him anymore. There was more to that cut than just money.

Witten is about 3 touchdowns behind him. How did he work out last year? After a year away from the game and a non repaired Achilles’ tendon

that quote right there. An insinuation that no one was interested. When the truth is he was still recovering. He wanted to attempt an October November come back but probably thought better of it. You’re fooling yourself if you think no team in the NFL is gonna come knocking in his current health.

and that TD comparison without factoring in the years it took to get there makes no sense at all. You’re grasping at air.

Two guys had a conversation about a topic for three + pages. I interject on the topic twice just stating a couple facts. You ask how long ago it was, with your intent on letting me know to let it go. You don't even understand how stupid that looks.

Lol just say you quoted the wrong person and were wrong and LET IT GO.
