With the sports world hitting the pause button, there is an obvious huge void for fans, starving for sports entertainment.

The Dallas Cowboys media team has produced over 25 documentaries over the last five years and has decided to use this idle time to feature many of them, which include Emmy-winning and nominated productions that touch on a wide range of topics and players from all 60 seasons of Dallas Cowboys Football.

Today, we continue the series with "Doomsday II: The Dawn of America's Team."
As part of the 2017 Deep Blue lineup, this documentary was written and co-produced by Kurt Daniels, and edited and co-produced by Roxanne Medina.
Beginning in the 1960s, with the likes of Bob Lilly, Chucky Howley and Lee Roy Jordan, the Cowboys defense was appropriately nicknamed "Doomsday" for its tenacity, grit and, at times, complete domination.
But as the Cowboys moved into the late 1970s, the Doomsday Defense went to another level and remains unmatched in Cowboys history. With stars like Randy White, Harvey Martin, Cliff Harris and "Hollywood" Henderson, the unit not only dominated the NFL to win the title in 1977, but also led the team to three Super Bowls in four years.

Wish all our fans could appreciate how completely dominant this franchise was from about 1970-82.

In those years, the Cowboys played in 9 NFC championships, winning 5, and played in 5 SBs, winning 2. Only had one non- playoff year- 1974. They Won 17 playoff games In those 13 seasons. Some perspective- We have won 3 playoff games in 24 seasons. Thanks again Jerry.

There was a time when the mediocrity group on this board would have been shunned to a level that we wouldn’t have to read their pathetic comments. They have no idea what true greatness and winning looks like. JJ has lured the younger fan into mediocrity as greatness! I’ll be so happy when he’s no longer a voice in this organization. Hopefully Stephen will bow out and let a real football mind GM this club. If not, we’ll never experience what was once a proud organization.

Oh my goodness.........back to my childhood days..........Roger staubach........he was my hero!!!!!!!! Lived and Breathed nothing but that team growing up. When they didnt win....couldnt understand why....but I was learning about football...and watching all the retirement pieces fall off after the 70's....D.white could not lead them to the title despite the defense ranked near the 20's.......Roger would have lead those early 80's teams to a couple of more titles.....but as always..age catches up and father time says...........'Thats It".

I am not sure we will ever experience that again. The game has changed so much that it never will be like the old days. The players or the owners. Back then is was about " the team" and now it is about me me me. It's not gonna change and it will never be the same nfl or the same Cowboys.
