How can it be a level of homerism if they feel the team is doomed without a couple of players? Wouldn't homerism dictate that they do not believe the team is doomed due to losing a couple of players or not doomed for any reason?

Posted about the same thing, before I seen this.

Isn't Mickey off of it too. :muttley:

Maybe Broaddus and Mickey actually carried the show.

Mickey has his own show called Mick’s shots with Bill Jones which will probably turn into Mickey’s minute for an hour with him telling stories. Broaddus and Mickey going at it is what made Talkin’ Cowboys entertaining.

Media like that is how Jerry has gotten away with what he has for 25 years.
"Media like that?"

You mean Talkin' Cowboys? As in "Talkin' Cowboys, a production of DallasCowboys.com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club", all owned by Jerry Jones?

What are they supposed to say and still get a paycheck from their employer? "You know, our boss, Jerruh, should allow another qualified football executive to take over as general manager."

I have less of a problem with media employees of Jerry Jones than I have with media he does not own but do not hound him 24/7. There are PLENTY more applicable examples of media members who have allowed Jones to get away with stuff for the past three decades with no end in sight. Just my opinion.

Talk about a collection of no talent clowns. Add to that the level of homerism and it is awful. They believe the team is doomed cause it lost Witten and Heath. Lmao

Well we had a better year in 18 when Witten was retired so not so sure about that...

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever understand the love some people have for Jeff Heath.

Not the crowd that says he's a good special teams guy, good clubhouse guy, decent back up S. I am talking about the people that claimed he was a legitimate and good starting S and arguably our best playmaker in the secondary.

That crowd has me in stitches.
How can you not love a football player. Not a pre-Madonna. But a football player. Someone who brings her lunch box every day good bad or indifferent. That’s the passion that Jeff had. If some of these other players have that passion with the excelled talent level. Just imagine how good we could be. Give me a team full of Jeff and I’ll win a championship

I listen to 105.3 the fan and it’s much better. Now granted they do talk about all DFW sports but they mainly just talk about the Cowboys. The best segment to me is the gbag nation 2-7pm every week day. It’s Gavin Dawson, Jeff Cavanuagh, and Broaddus. You can listen to it on the radio, or you can go to radio.com and listen and it gives you the ability to rewind if you miss something. They also have a radio.com app (which is what I use). I recommend giving them a listen they have great insight and they aren’t homers.

Cant listen to it either.

I love hanging with the boys. The show lives and dies with Nate Newton. Love this guy!

I know I’ll be in the minority but I hate that show more than any of them. The host sounds like some hillbilly hick from Hee Haw. A couple of months ago he kept saying “I’m goin to Mexico, I’m goin to Mexico, I’m goin to Mexico!” I find him annoying. The other guy on the show sounds like he’s half asleep. Nate and his bad grammar wears me down. It’s hey man this and hey man that. I’m okay with Jesse Holly at least he’s candid but he can get annoying. Sometimes they’ll spend the first several minutes of the show laughing and talking about things that have nothing to do with football. When I get really bored I try listening to the show but can only make it through 10 or 15 minutes before cutting it off.

believe me I am no Heath homer and have no dog in the fight. But as just an observer, it seemed no one ever made plays in the secondary. But when once in a blue moon something did happen, it seemed Heath was around or made the play. Doesn’t make up for his limitations but one could see how a casual observer could get the impression.

You don't have to unconditionally love Jeff Heath to accept the fact that he did contribute to special teams, at times made spectacular plays at safety, including interceptions but was not consistent at that position. Is his loss
devastating, absolutely not. But don't diminish the fact that Heath had a respectable career with the Cowboys and contributed.

Witten on the other hand was an exceptional tight end but let's face it the football years caught up with him. Witten knew that himself after all he retired to go into broadcasting and that only lasted one season.
The Raiders likely will use Witten situationally. Our team doesn't have that luxury anymore, and it would be unfair to subtract opportunities from Jarwin. It was the right, but sentimentally sad decision not to re-sign Witten.

Same as when Emmitt left.

Not even remotely close to what they said but the show is definitely not good right now.

+1
i felt the same way with Hanging with the boys and the way they do their show format. It was a quick turn off for me, and i never went back to listening
nate has two sides to him, as he can be silly and giggly as hell, his radio demeanor is horrible if he isn't directed to be more serious and no nonsense.
as it's exactly as you described it with the " hey, man ..hey man" ,.and..." i promise you ' ..and i keep thinking all those peeves mentioned could that have been the reason for getting him off talkin Cowboys show and more to Hangin with da Boyz show. Which Newton admitted he didn't like being moved to a new show.

Oddly when he guest stars on Firing Line every Monday on ESPN radio 103.3 during NFL season, he gets into a more serious, forwarded mode ,,and much
easier to listen to ..vs his mode on hanging with the Boyz.

i cant listen to Jessie Holley for too long, maybe as a special guest here and there but not regularly, ..his ranting criticism just to prove he is not Cowboys-bias can get annoying, especially when it seems he doesn't know what he is talking about .. but 105.3 the Fan radio won't admit it but every since Holley was fired from the station, their Saturday morning shows have really suffered. ..imo.

and whoever those co-host are for Hanging with the Boyz, i cant handle listening to them, they are annoying and bring nuthin of intrigue, appeal or interest to the show.

They are doubling down on this FO's belief that Heath could play safety at an NFL level.

Their worldview is that Jerry is a competent football man. Anything that challenges that, challenges their whole belief system.

Can't listen to any show with Mickey on it. He flip flops all over the place changing his argument for some perceived win.
Listening to Rob is like watching a beige painted wall dry with Bonnie M in the background
I don't know who else is on the show.
