He had very little talent to work with. The great players from our glory days had gone and Jerry's drafting was still terrible.LOL, your hate for JG has blinded you from the Campo seasons. That was nothing but a black hole of despair.
That's your own fault for getting your hopes up with Garrett head coaching. Take responsibility for your own emotions. lolHe had very little talent to work with. The great players from our glory days had gone and Jerry's drafting was still terrible.
Nobody expected anything from the Campo years, but Garrett? Multiple HOF players wasted, perennial all pros and pro bowlers abound. Wasted. All of it.
3/13 in 88 for me as well. The entire organization was old and tired and clearly exhausted after so many years of greatness. What was your worst year as a Cowboys fan?
Mine was 1988. In my lifetime, which started in 1965, the Cowboys had never won less than 7 games in a season, except for the strike shortened 1982 season, when they went 6-3 and made the NFL championship game for the 3rd straight season. And they had only 3 seasons of 7 wins (1965, 1986 & 1987) in that time. At the age of 23, I had witnessed 20 consecutive winning seasons from 1966-1985. The Cowboys had started 6-2 in 1986 on their way to a 21st winning season, only to crater to a 1-7 finish after Danny White was injured, and Steve Pelleur took over at Quarterback. 1986 was their first losing season since 1964, and the first I had ever witnessed.
To watch Tom Landry suffer through the humiliation of a 3-13 season in 1988 was excruciating. That was BEFORE he got fired in February 1989.
Enough said.Wrong, Red did something while Campos did nothing. Red had teams in certain seasons that played every bit as hard for him as Campos teams did for him. The 2014 and 2016 teams were amazing for Red so stop acting like it was all bad when Red was around. Campos was 5-11 3 years in a row and we had absolutely no hope in those days no matter how hard they played.
I'm going to say 2011. Romo was playing at his absolute peak, and in week 2 had the OT win on the road with a punctured lung against a 49ers team that went 13-3 and played in the AFCCG. Witten was still in his prime and you had Dez and Murray coming on, and LAURENT ROBINSON was super good out of nowhere. Hell, Ware had one of his best seasons too with 19.5 sacks. But with Rob Ryan running the D there were constant unforced errors blowing games at critical moments, and of course that was the absolute low point of Training Wheels Garrett bumbling around the sidelines.
In many ways the 2019 season was just a carbon copy of 2011.
This is true, and we wonder why there was so much pessimism......That's your own fault for getting your hopes up with Garrett head coaching. Take responsibility for your own emotions. lol
Easy to say 1988 or 1989. If you account for the entire season. And not just how seasons ended, such as that stupid catch if SF.
1988 after it set in, this team needs help, and a lot of it. Then knowing if we keep losing we will be able to draft Aikman. So, not so bad.
1989, we ere was bad team that needed a lot of talent, but we had Troy, Michael, and a lot of draft picks. So with low expectations, it was not really a year I consider the worst for me.
So it actually was 2010. Team was winning, and was in the playoffs 3 or 4 years, winning the division twice. SB was to be player at Jerry World. Then boom, they collapsed under Wade and went 1-7, Then Garret takes over. Then my 2 most hated teams play the SB in our house. Then a freak winter storm hits, and the NFL screwed up on some seating structure, and of course Jerry got the blame (as it was the NFL that taken over all of that per their rules). And Jerry has not tried to get a SB back here since.
The ownership change in the mid 80s killed us.
1994 for me as well.Great question. The first Cowboy game i can remember is Monday night Dallas won 31-30, 1983. Having seen the Cowboys get blown out by the bears in 85, 87 &88 Landry's demise.
89 going 1-15, others have mentioned Campo, Switzer, etc, etc
My worst year was when Jerry let Jimmy leave in the winter of 1994. Bar none that was the worst moment. Doesn't seem right that after back to back SB's that 1994 would be the worst but the fact is that is the 25 year curse we are living in.
