i've never seen ceedee drop this far in the draft to even be a potential move. from what i understand, this is also a very deep draft. we just paid cooper to be #1. gallop has been a great #2. what would we be looking for in a WR that we need to take another when starting WR's are set and solid?

Fans hear about what a deep receiver draft this is and feel compelled to 'get in on the action'.

Yeah its definitely higher than zero. They could trade a 3rd rounder and trade up to get him if they wanted him. That would shock em but its not zero. There's a zero percent chance we get Burrow or Chase Young. Not Lamb.

All of that is true. It's also possible lamb falls to 17. There is a very good chance only 2 wrs go before our pick. It is not inconceivable by any means that those two wrs are Jeudy and Ruggs..it can be any combination..it's definitely possible all 3 go before our pick...all of those guys are projected to go 11- mid to late teens..I absolutely think if lamb is available at 17, he's the one wr that we would draft

https://thelandryhat.com/2020/04/09/dallas-cowboys-land-next-dez-bryant-draft/

...And it’s during the draft where America’s Team might find themselves a newer version of Dez. Here’s who Gil Brandt, former Cowboys executive, current senior analyst for NFL Media, and Hall of Famer recently compared to Bryant in the upcoming draft class.

“[CeeDee] Lamb was a beast with the ball in his hands, collecting 376 yards after contact (third-most in FBS) and 683 yards after the catch and forcing 26 missed tackles (second-most among receivers in FBS) … To me, Lamb is a Dez Bryant lookalike — though Bryant had a bigger upper body and was a stronger guy, they have similar mannerisms on the field.”

...While there’s an argument to be made that there’s a big enough need on the Dallas Cowboys’ current wide receiver depth chart for both Dez Bryant and CeeDee Lamb, either actually being on the roster come September could be a pipe dream.

Although Jeff Cavanaugh of 105.3 The Fan believes Bryant could work as the team’s fourth wide receiver in addition to drafting a rookie wideout in the upcoming draft, it’s unclear whether the team’s new coaching staff feels the same way. And considering the other needs along their roster, the Cowboys using their first-round selection on Lamb (who likely doesn’t fall that far anyway) could be nothing more than wishful thinking as well.
Sure hope not. Hope we can do much better.

Anyone having confidence in backups currently on the roster?
But the question is, do you use a first round pick on a position because you don't like the backups, or would you rather use it on a position where you don't like the starter?

Not really. I had some hope for Noah Brown when he came out and liked Ced Wilson as well. Neither have done much to make me think they could handle and excel at the #3 WR spot.

Lamb will be drafted before #17 and if the Cowboys trade up it will be for anther player.

Lamb could have lobotomy and still be smarter than Dez.

No, they aren't in the WR market... mark my words. We only have a few more days to wait and then see.

CeeDee Lamb would be a great addition.

The chances he becomes a Cowboy in 2 weeks?

Who needs the “next” Dez Bryant when we can get the real washed up loser so many people are excited about?

I wouldn't mind using #17 on any one of the top 3 WRs, although, I'd like it even more to get a DE like K'Lavon Chaisson there! :)

As long as Kellen opens up the offense and gets more creative in the wr's route tree.

Yep -- that could be Jeudy or Ruggs, hands down! Likely, exceptional slot guys, too!

K.J. Hamler (Penn State) has got great speed and moves like a $10,000 a night "escort"............I'm just leery about his hands and he will probably be available when we pick in Round 2.

Drafting a top receiver is a very strong move, and actually smart thinking...

If a drafted player can prove he can beat coverage in press, creating separation and commanding a safety presence over the top from time to time, he could allow Amari Cooper to slide inside when the Dallas Cowboys move to 11 personnel.

Amari would absolutely carve up defenses inside at the slot and potentially take the Cowboys offense to the next level. Many people forget the slot receiver position often produces the most EPA per play out of all the receiver positions. That’s why so many of the NFL’s best outside receivers move inside and take a ton of snaps at slot when the team moves to 11 personnel.

I like this whole idea of drafting one of the big WRs.

As long as we do not have to give up another pick to do it..

I say do it.

When Cooper tuned out in away games..out offense short-circuited.

Having another stud WR would change everything.

I want to rebuild the defense, sure.

But we can never rebuild it fast enough to really matter.

Scoring more points deletes the need to make the defense reinvent itself in order to win.

If the right hand is dealt to us..go for it.

I do not want another 10 years like we had to do when we didn't take Randy Moss.

We paid a huge price for that brain-fart.

No repeats please.

Taylor Gabriel.
I support this product and/or service if we go the FA route.

If we go through the Draft, I would love to see Chase Claypool wearing a star even though he isn't the type that you would normally think of as a slot receiver.
