Dallas Cowboys: Will Chidobe Awuzie make a name for himself in 2020?
https://thelandryhat.com/2020/04/11/dallas-cowboys-chidobe-awuzie-name-2020/

...He has had a good track record so far, improving every season for three consecutive years. While playing only 30 percent of the defensive snaps in his rookie season, Awuzie defended seven passes and made 25 tackles while intercepting one pass.

The following season, his snaps jumped up to 86 percent. That along with starts in 14 of 15 games played. The passes defended increased to 11, tackles up to 71, and yet again intercepted one pass.

The 2019 season saw 16 starts with 95 percent of defensive snaps. The corner’s best season yet saw him defend 14 passes and make 79 tackles, while yet again intercepting one pass. He also managed to force one fumble, make one tackle for a loss, and hit the opposing quarterback once...
Initially there was a lot of hype about him and Woods and Btown.

Brown stays for now. But the rest including Awuzie are debatable.

Last year I thought he was giving way too much cushion to receivers.

He was letting a good amount of YAC on key downs than he had before. At least it seemed that way.

It was always the safeties who got gouged and the LBers, too.

So I think they have to consider how to help Awuzie more than anything.

What I would prefer is to take our best CB and put him on the best WR and follow him.

Other teams seemed to do this against us with some success.

Amari was defended like this and he suffered from it. But Richard never did this.

Change this and draft best CB and Awuzie improves.

Hmmmm..

3. CB Jeff Okudah: Cowboys
While there should still be some very good cornerbacks available with the 17th overall pick, the Cowboys, who lost cornerback Byron Jones last month in free agency, should looking into the possibility of trading up to acquire Okudah, who is unanimously considered the best defensive back in the draft. Along with displaying an elite skill set during his time at Ohio State, Okudah also plays with a swagger that would surely be welcomed in Dallas and by the team's rabid fan base.

Okudah, whose ability has been compared to Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, studies all of the NFL's elite corners. He said that he specifically watches tape of Patrick Peterson and Stephon Gilmore, the league's reigning Defensive Player of the Year.

"I'll never get complacent because I feel like there's always a constant chase," Okudah said during a recent appearance on NFL Network. "I'm chasing some of the great corners in the game right now, and there's corners that are chasing me. I feel like, if you understand the constant chase, you'll always be good on the field."

One potential trade partner for the Cowboys could be the Panthers, who own the seventh overall pick but are likely open to moving back and acquiring extra draft capital.

I wouldn’t be opposed to this. But no way Detroit doesn’t draft him

Go back to the street, but remember social distancing, preppie...and on to ignore.
Go home to your mother, if you still have one, only men on this board and true fans, and the social distancing will start on this board distancing with YOU!! Buh-BYE

I'm not forgiving him for his "business decision" in Philly.

Probably goes a long way toward why I want nothing to do with Mr. Henderson.

Many times, in the flat, on 3rd down, the only thing between the ball carrier and the marker is a corner, and I want guys that want to get off the field and win, not worry about getting hurt and not getting paid.

Bro that’s too far. Men don’t insult other people’s mothers. Boys do.

That would cost 51, and probably next years 1st....or 51, next years 2nd, and a starter making little money.

For a corner? If you KNOW he is Derelle Revis, I suppose it's worth it, but no one does, and plenty of cant miss guys find a way to miss.

With the quarterbacks and offensive tackles being targeted, still think that he comes off the board at 3?

Seriously. What's wrong here??

Perfect shot to bash Awuzie and you bash each other.

Play nice kids.

With what is happening through out the world, you ACTUALLY back using kiddie remarks like 'if you have a Momma?' You don't even have to respond...as well as being on topic.

I think Dallas should work on an extension this offseason with Chidobe.

He is not nearly as bad as this forum would have you believe. He’s a pretty good player and I’m fine with him as our #2 corner.

If he fits the new scheme then Dallas needs to try and get ahead of this and get him signed.
Yeah we mis-use everyone who isn’t Byron Jones at CB since he’s the only one who fit Richards scheme correctly. If you look at Chidos college tape, he played a lot more zone and was featured in SS/blitz roles and thrived. He’s a solid CB2 who’s football instincts were neutered while in this scheme.

I expect to see a jump from all 3 carry overs from last season in Brown, Lewis, Chido. If we draft the right CB1 we could have a really solid crew

Chido may the biggest disappointment on the team. He may not perform the worst but collectively thought highly of him and expected more than he was able to deliver

It was just yesterday I was being told I was wrong about him, cause cause cause it took such a perfect throw to beat him. Every time. A perfect throw. He is not player and has never been. I will hold out slight hope a new staff can get him to you know actually look for the ball for once in his life. If we draft a corner high, he’s the one going to the bench
If we draft a corner high he’s the CB2, how does your CB1 go from starting to bench with one addition lol. In any scenario not named injury, Chido is your starting corner on one side in 2020.
