You know you're great when the other team makes a spectacular play and all the commentators can do is talk about is you.
Larry Allen was one guy you didn't want to mess with. The loquacious John Randle even knew to keep his mouth shut when he played against Allen. And Allen punked the scary Greg Lloyd in the Super Bowl.
My man!

THIS GUY'S GOT A ROCKET BOOSTER STRAPPED TO HIS BACK! Larry Allen = 63 325 lbs (via @nflthrowback) https://t.co/2NNF89CwYn" / Twitter

When he and Eric Williams were playing..

and Nate Newton..

They were like Tonka Toys playing against Matchbox Cars.

No contest.

Boom.

All the little boys in the room will get that reference. For you girly girls, it's Barbie vs. Thumbalina. Barbie had the cars, the clothes and Ken.

Thumbalina wet herself and whined.

Savey?

I think LA is a top 10 all time talent bar none.
The list of dominant players and in a few cases, future HOFers look silly is a long one.

I can’t think of many players that had the reputation of stomping a mud hole in your toughest guy’s backside.....not dominating who happened to be there—he would $hithouse the dude you thought was your meanest one.

LA was a monster.

tbh it is one of the most impressive plays in nfl history. he had a decent angle but he still start flat footed and matched his stride at 300+ pounds. that is a true once a generation athlete.

Not just the athleticism, but the *will* to run down the play. How many olinemen are even going to really try on that kind of play?

Best All time, most dominant OG that has ever played the NFL game,.. imo
I don't see how you could argue otherwise.

Hall of famer DT John Randle (who was a notriours ^#^# talker) even said that Allen was the only player he never tried to talk trash to. He said getting humiliated by him was already bad enough.

Larry Allen literally instilled fear into hall of fame defensive tackles. I can even fantom how that's real ? Larry was generational talent for sure (there's a reason why he's one of only 2 interior linemen to make first ballot in the last 25 years)

Best small-college studs ever for all 32 NFL teams

Dallas Cowboys

Larry Allen, guard
College: Sonoma State
Years with team: 1994-2005

This was a difficult decision, especially with Hall of Famers such as Rayfield Wright (Fort Valley State) and Cliff Harris (Ouachita Baptist) around, but Allen is the best offensive lineman in team history and was a 10-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro. He was as dominant as any offensive lineman in the game with his strength and athleticism. He was a second-round pick (No. 46 overall) at a time when there were still some secrets in the draft. He performed well at Sonoma State as well as in the Shrine Game, but teams worried about his small-school background. After his rookie season, Allen started every game he played for the Cowboys and helped them win a Super Bowl. -- Todd Archer

John Randle was a walk-on/undrafted, from Texas A&I.

Aikman would have had the tackle on that play had LA not hussled. But something tells me Aikman was glad to see he didn't have to do it.
