NFL.com had a good thought, put Murray at weakside linebacker. He could be the replacement for Sean Lee.

Overview
Sleek, playmaking linebacker with chiseled frame and long arms. Murray's game is predicated on speed with an ability to fly around from sideline to sideline rolling up tackles. While his twitchy burst allows him to make more plays than the average linebacker, he will overflow to ball-carriers at times. Recognition of play development and ability to take on blocks are both underdeveloped currently, but a move to weak-side linebacker would put him in position to minimize those concerns and maximize his playmaking talent. Murray has hit-or-miss qualities and is more splashy than consistent, but he's immensely talented with the ability to imprint on games on all three downs.
I see Murray as a high floor player. Very low bust potential.

I feel great about Randy Gregory & Aldon Smith contributing this year. Think they’re both going to surprise a lot of people. And we still have Tank. I’m really not that worried at DE. Am I crazy?

I think the Cowboys take a CB in the first, then trade up for Terrell Lewis in the 2nd like they did for DeMarcus Lawrence in 2014.

If Lewis' medicals check out, I think he might be the 2nd best pass rusher in this class. He was dominant vs Tennessee this year and has measurables similar to Aldon Smith.

I used to love the draft when Jimmy Johnson was here, now I hold my breathe, especially after the Taco Charleton debacle, then a really good safety (which the need was great) was right there for the taking last year and they selecTrysten Hill. I have no condifence with Dallas anymore.

I can totally see this situation playing out, or the opposite--pass rusher in the first, trade up for a CB like Fulton in the second.

I like taking cornerback first and moving up for Terrell Lewis, THAT would be the beginning of a potentially great draft..Finally.

I still see Henderson as the most likely. Chaison would be next after Henderson. Kinlaw is my absolute fav. But won't be there.
If our board is a complete bust, I hope they have trade down options ready, says NE trade back for Love.
And in that scenario, I may even consider a Delpit at #23.
I just cant see WR at #17.

Yes. Gregory has been completely unreliable and Smith hasn't played football in years.

These are band-aids for a huge need for us long term.

I feel we will panic pick.

All of the guys we love will go before 17. We panic and end up with Murray, Epenesa or a Curtis Weaver.

I'm anxious to see the 1st McCarthy led draft.

I agree to an extent though, I could see us panicking and reaching just not for your players mentioned.

Guys we've met with like Fulton, Mims and Raegor are very solid prospects, but not top 20 prospects.

The more I think about it the more I'm hoping we can trade down to the mid 20s if possible unless a stud falls.

disagree...Murray might be BPA at 17 if Henderson and Chaisson are off the board.

Murray plays a position where instincts are critical and he lacks instincts. Picking him in the 1st round would be insane...especially if LVE has no concerns.

disagree.
he showed plenty during his time at Ou.
from where i was sitting.
one of us is wrong.
we'll see.
helluva player...sideline to sideline.
LOVE to have him.
it would be insane to pass on a play-maker on that side of the ball...considering we lack them.
we have no idea what Nolan will do as DC or his plans for LBs.
sounds like he wants 3....or more.

I think Murray is smoke screen for the teams that pick behind us. Maybe to tempt them to trade with us to secure him. Lots of teams picking in the 20s want him and McQueen.
or a hint who we might be targeting if we trade back.

I think based on the interviews the Cowboys are seriously considering a trade back scenario.

Heck if we can get enough trade capital and we are not interested in DE, trade out of the first round totally and gain draft picks. This years draft has a ton of talent in the 2nd and 3rd round if we can get a couple extra picks in those rounds we can add multiple early contributors to this draft and have plenty of draft capital next year with comp picks also. New coaching staff, allow them to build the team that fits their scheme.
If we can get 2 2nd round picks, 3 3rd round picks this year, and next year we should have at the very least based on comp predictions 2 3rds and 2 4ths you have 5 extra picks in the first 4 rounds. Thats how you combat all the contracts that will be hitting us next year and get more cap friendly.
