Is that the most important factor? Who is going to be the best over the next 5-10 years. Still might be kinlaw but that's the question
Only maybe Nostradamus could answer that question.

I'm thinking that both DT's and all 3 top WR's will be gone by pick 17.

1. CeeDee Lamb
2. Kinlaw
3. Henderson
4. Chaisson

Those are the guys I want, in that order.

I know WR3 isn’t as big a need, but the kid is gonna be a star. And who is gonna stop an offense with Zeke, Cooper, Gallup, Lamb and Jarwin? Even as a rookie, Lamb would absolutely murder a team’s third best CB one on one. Plus e it her Amari would get one on one coverage a lot more or if he’s got safety help, Gallup, Lamb, Jarwin and Zeke will make you pay. I don’t think any defensive player would make as big an impact as Lamb.
but in my opinion, you are not going to win championships by just trying to out score everyone....KC is a great example. 2018, average 35 points per game. 2019, 28....but defense went from 31st to 17th......patriots that went 19-1 were the same. they eased through regular season, feasted on easy teams and the giants defense just owned them in the superbowl.

SF, average everything, but that defense got them into superbowl…..they ran into mahomes, just like most other teams do

This is easy. Its Kinlaw. Better player at a high value position. But he will be gone at 17.

So the real question is, what if Chaisson and Henderson are available? Who do you take if you are the Cowboys? I think its Henderson and not close but what does everyone else think. You could say Chaisson because the dropoff in Edge Rushers is pretty steep after him.

What if someone like Becton drops down to 17 and Henderson and Kinlaw are gone. Probably trade down, but what if no trade partners come up?

Iknow, I know, this is too hypothetical to consider.

I say Henderson, too.

We are thread bare at DB and especially CB.

Not having someone like him will be way more noticable than a DL guy.

We just signed 2 guys and Tristan Hill is going to play this year and we really do not know him yet.

In college he was very decent. Our cluster fuc_ at coaching with Marinelli and Richard caused too many issues.

There are still more cuts coming after the draft to sift thru for DL help.

We will see.

We have 3 starters at CB, CB isn't a need.
I, like some, don't think J.Lewis or A.Brown can be trusted to play the outside. Plus if one of these guys go down, then what?

We just signed two DT's and drafted a DT last year, so I don't see DT as a early need. I'm thinking we draft another one later on in the draft.

We still have Jelks, Jackson, Armstrong, Tank, and Crawford that can play DE. Not to mention the indefinitely suspended Gregory and Aldon. So that's six DE's.

So if you look at the three positions CB would be the one that will suffer the most due to one injury.

After the draft free agency is still an option at all of those positions. But I'd feel way better about our defense if we use four picks on that side of the ball this year. It really doesn't matter to me what position they take first. Just fill the holes on the defense.

Is this a serious question?

Kinlaw is a full tier, maybe 2 above the other 2.

Henderson is a terrific athlete but his game footage is unsettling. Very Morris Claiborne-ish.

Chaisson worries me. He might be scheme dependent. We've seen a lot of similar limited size speed rusher come into the NFL that didn't live up to expectations. Bruce Irvin was a freak speed pass rusher and has been a decent NFL player but I don't know if anybody would want to draft him in the mid 1st with hindsight knowledge. Nolan does like to use a "stand-up DE" on one side but Chaisson is much closer to a prototype 3-4 OLB.

If the question was Henderson or Chaisson then it would be more difficult to answer.

I would have to go with Chaisson because Henderson is a higher risk. Chaisson does have the right on-field demeanor.

There are plenty of first day starters at CB in rounds 2-3.
Dallas will set their board and pick wisely based not just on those at #17, but also those expected to be there later......unless a player is in a tier above others. I even think they may trade down if they can get an extra 2 or 3.

Henderson is one of the drafts most athletic coverage corners. He has the ability to step in and be a day one starter in this league. The footwork is there, the suddenness to change direction is impressive, and remarkable speed makes his recovery time very appealing. Henderson has prototypical NFL size and all the athletic traits you’d want from a corner.

CJ Henderson. The guy has top 10 prospect written all over him. He would immediately be the top corner on the team. Kinlaw is not as polished of a prospect, he's a 1st rounder, but not this can't miss guy. Plus his injury questions are legit. Chaisson needs developing, but he is very intriguing as well, and would love him if Henderson & Kinlaw were unavailable. Theres a higher chance none of the 3 will be available than at least 1 in my opinion.

Chaisson was unimpressive in college--no reason to think he will turn it on in Pros. Either of others would be okay--I would take a WR if one of the top three is still there at 17.

So many people saying so many different things:

Kinlaw's a no-brainer, but he's not polished and might have a bad knee.
Henderson is the super-best coverage corner, but he's not, according to tape and he doesn't tackle.
Chaisson is the DE this team needs to get the QB, but he's also unimpressive and not a 3 down player.

This team has 3 starters in their CB's, but they are also threadbare in DB's.
This team has signed DT's, they don't need another, but they need another.

The CB position is deep in this draft, but it's not.
You can find a big body anywhere in the draft.
We need impact players this year! We need to think down the road!
And then there's WR's!

I don't know who to trust.
