He reminds me of...(bear with me here) Myles Garrett, Soloman Thomas, and.... D-Law. He’s a high effort, long limbed, agile Dend. He has a freaky build at 6-5 265 and can beat defenders around the corner (he has decent bend) or with a nasty speed to power move. He also likes to go inside alot. He’s still raw with his pass rushing skills but looks promising with what he’s done so far. I just love this guys upside. He gives a ton of effort and his production is pretty good.
*Production- 94 Tackles, 34.5 Tackles for loss and 17 sacks.
* His last 2 years at Penn State
I saw this guy demolish Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State Olinemen. The big ten talent in the trenches is no joke (Same with the SEC
Versatility- He is a well built 4-3 end but i think you can even stand him up as he has held his own whenever doing so. He also has some experience moving inside. He’s made some plays by just being too quick for the guard. That would be a wonderful combo with either Mccoy or Poe.
If we are talking about upside, i prefer Chaisson from LSU. He is a perfect fit for this defense. I just think YGM is underrated and can be a big time player against both the running and passing game. I actually like his floor compared to Chaisson’s but i would still go with Chaisson if he is there. A trade back scenario getting YGM may be my hope but i’m not sure how long he lasts.
We need pass rush if we don’t go Corner, i also really would like C.J Henderson but i’m not sure he lasts either. We lost Byron, And Quinn! Our secondary was good last year for the most part but we got ate up sometimes and now we lost our best corner. The run defense was the main problem, which Quinn had some blame in by playing heroball sometimes. He did an amazing job rushing the qb when he was on the field though. He will be missed badly by our sack team but I think Randy Gregory/Aldon Smith...(BIG HOPE HERE) will shake off the rust and give us some much needed speed on the outside. I think YGM gives us a good balance out there too!
...I’m also starting to like Zack Baun.
TLDR- he’s good
