I don’t know if he fits what they want at TE.

He’s kind of a classic throwback TE and maybe they want someone a little more dynamic.

He’s a good solid player though.. Nothing special.
Kinda reminds me of Green Bay's 2012 starting TE Jermichael Finley (6'4" 240lbs). I think Big Mike would use him. He's got some tools IMO.

Tom Brady a QB that really knows how to use a talented TE comes to town and BA doesnt want him? Ill pass

Seriously. First thing I thought too. Brady dominated in a 2TE scheme but they want to trade off Howard?
Unless that Gronk theory is true and Howard can net them more picks...

I had him on my fantasy league team too before benching him and Winston would throw to everyone but him, even the other TE. After the 3rd game I had enough and benched him. He and Winston must have had some kind of beef or something.
Arians has never utilized the TE. in his offense that much.

He's had a hard time staying on the field. He hasn't played all 16 games in a season yet.

Yes was just thinking this, doesn't he have some back issues. If so pass.
He is intriguing but still pass. As the cost would probably be too much. Dallas needs to use all of it draft picks to fill in the gaps, get a few contributors now as well as the future.

And they did not give that contract to Jarwin just to bring in another TE. Same for drafting one high. Those picks are for defense.

Would you be interested? And if so what would you give up? I do fund him intriguing but would have be a bargain in every sense.

I think he is intriguing also, but I believe he has had back issues over the past few years, or some kind of injuries.
I rather Dallas keep their draft picks to build up a few starters and future starters.

But for a bargain, late round pick, yes would still be interested, since Dallas seems to waste those picks, but then again that staff is gone.

have to consider the $ too as you'd have him for 2 years on his rookie deal (with the 5th year option) but that is 1st rd pick money too. With that said, I'd go as high as a 3. Unless there is some underlying health or attitude issue that we the fans are not aware of, he was a stud at Bama. He'd clearly be the top TE in this class.

Where do u see that Njoku is available?
Outside of his play time already was down very low last season, then the browns went out and signed the best TE available in free agency.

Outside of that, absolutely nothing.

I think Jarwin has promise and Bell can be a solid 2nd TE so I don't think we are desperate but if we could get him for a 3rd I'd be interested because he'd give us another weapon on offense that could start.

As much as Brady goes to his TE's why would they want to trade him?

Agreed. Does Arians even really use the TE? I can't remember it being a big piece of his time in Arizona.
Brady does, so Tom may want some TE in the draft, because he likes to use the TE and wants
a big one like gronk.

This is a weak TE class, so if the Cowboys need to add a TE, he should be a target. Could we get him for a third? If so, I think that would be an excellent move.

Do you know his contract status?

Another guy with one year left on his rookie deal who will want paid.

How many of these guys do people expect to acquire?

They don;t think it through. They see a name they know and simply say "go get him!"

Nah. It's going to cost at least a 3rd and it's time to let Jarwin earn the money you just gave him.

There are TEs available in this draft also that are far away from a payday.

Cant keep dealing high pick for vets. Need guys to play on the cheap.

Exactly right. People don't think things through.

oh, I wasn't aware of the injuries....initially I thought a 5th rounder...but now I am thinking a 7th rounder or 8th rounder  at most....if he has injury issues, they would have to settle and release him and then he is available.

I would stay away in that case, specially if its been an issue for several years.

OJ Howard failed to reach the 600 yard mark in any of his first three seasons -- maybe the Bucs and Brady aren't too happy with that production. It really does seem like a pretty pedestrian record to me and Tom Brady has been accustomed to considerably more.

I'd be reluctant to offer more than a 5th round pick in a take-it-or-leave-it deal. Brady likely doesn't really approve of him, either, I would imagine. Does Tampa Bay feel a need to cater to their newfound savior, perhaps? That could very well be.
