I agree. Yet we were in such a hurry to re sign Blake Jarwin. Guess teams were lining up for him. As always we are reactive and not proactive or patient

You covered all the bases. Dallas is wrong no matter what they do. Dallas is wrong if they sign their own player they like. That is being proactive, but you label it as not being impatient. I'm not certain how they were being reactive with respect to the tight end position. There weren't many tight end options out there this off season. There was Austin Hooper who is very good and very pricey. There was Eric Ebron who is now with his 3rd team. There was some back up that the Ravens traded away. Oh, and there is Tyler Eifert who is already 30, but whose body is closer to 40. And now OJ Howard might be available via trade. A guy in the final year of his rookie deal unless a 5th year option is implemented. Re-signing Jarwin was a good move and the contract is very team friendly. They are not locked into him in any fashion.

He might just need a change of scenery like Marty B. Jerry should kick the tires IMO.

Gotta do your research!

I think it was more than me that got taken in fantasy on OJ and the bucs. With the way they passed the ball, would have thought he would have had a better season. Now with Pretty Boy there and we know he loves his TE, that position will get more play now even if OJ is traded because the other TE is talented also.

Do not want.

Jarwin is a veteran that has speed. I can't remember him missing a catch either. Blocking can be taught. Those 30 and 40- yard runs by Jarwin sold me on him.

You can merge this with the other post. I would not give a 2nd rounder as he only has 2 years left on his contract. But, any draft pick after a 3rd rounder as he would be a huge, fast, blocking, catching upgrade over all the Cowboys TEs on the roster.

Again, he is a big time player that makes big time plays in big time games...See Bama vs. Clemson championship games 2016 and 2017. Best play maker on the field.

I've always liked Howard but you have to be concerned that a team that just acquired Tom Brady, a QB who has had serious success with athletic TE's (Gronk & Aaron Hernandez) who create match-up problems, is willing to move on from him.
They just traded for Gronk and OJ was seriously in Arians dog house last year.

Yes and no. Blocking can be taught, but some guy always naturally shy away from the contact needed to block right....and never end up being great blockers. However, Jarwin's speed is good and I look forward to seeing what he can do.

I watch the Bucs all the time and cannot figure out what is going on with Howard. I'd say stick with Jarwin.

Signing Jarwin still left a hole on the roster because can’t block, so they still need a blocking TE.

I agree they could use a solid blocking tight end. The signing of Jarwin is not preventing them from making a move to get a blocking TE or an all-around tight end.
