I miss those daily tag and trade threads.

That was time well spent.

Why does everyone think its the fault of the Dallas Cowboys for not getting a deal done. I dont believe the holdup has anything to do with length of contract. Its all about the money and Dak is the one to blame not his agent. His agent will do what ever Dak tells him so this deal could have been done. Kellerman nailed it when he said the Cowboys would be able to reload if the made this trade and that the time to win a SB is when a QB is on his rookie contract because you can stack the team around him. Dak needs too much talent around him to win and thats why you cant pay him the money he wants.

Why is everybody wanting to trade Dak?

I thought he was loved and sacred Holy Grail in Dallas.?

No?

I must be mistaken then..let's see what these guy think.

I’m an advocate for trading Dak for no other reason than to see the weeping and gnashing of teeth from the Dak Boyz.

Personally, if trading Dak would make the team better, I am all for it. I only care about what is best for the Cowboys winning. And right now, that is Dak Prescott about to enter his prime with REAL coaching.

Setting reset and hoping some rookie QB becomes the Next Mahomes is probably one of the dumbest Ideas I have EVER heard. Its what bratty little QB challenged fans would think is actually a viable strategy.

I am also all for drafting ANY QB they see as a franchise type signal caller. I would also 100% be calling around the NFL to see if anyone would happen to give us a kings ransom for Dak or anyone else for that matter.

Give me the #1 pick all day long. Ill give them Dak and Zeke and our #1.

But trading for say Tua is just plain dumb.

I would say that you simply don't read. The issue is 100% contract length that is a fact.

Its not what Dak needs, its what the Cowboys need.

Cowboys have the offense, now they need the defense, special teams and coaching.

"Dak sucks! Don't pay him and draft a new QB."

Same poster:

"Tag Dak and trade him for 2 first round picks!"

He sucks, but he's worth 2 first round picks to someone?

That is garbage the media is throwing around..

Nobody is giving up 2 picks for Dak and turning around and giving him the money he wants.

Dallas has already messed up and gave Dak all the leverage in negotiations anyways.

If you would of finished reading what I wrote its not that I didnt read that. Its that I dont believe that is the issue. Thats not the type of thing that takes over a year to get settled. If you notice how careful Dak and his agent along with the Jones family how hush hush this whole contract negotiation has been. Yes there are reports here and there but you cant always believe what you hear. One reason I dont believe it is that Jerry could give Dak that 4 year contract that Dak wants and if Dak is balling out two years into it up his salary to keep him. It would make more sense that Dak is the one who wants a longer contract and Jerry isnt sold enough on him and wants a shorter deal just in case he doesnt play up to standards. You can believe the media or you can form your own opinion. If Jerry really believed in Dak this deal would of been done and length of contract wouldnt even be an issue. It only makes sense that its more about the money because that would be what holds up a contract negotiation for this long.

Jerry Jones wants a longer deal so he can restructure the contract multiple times like he did for Romo. Dak wants a shorter deal so he can get a chance at another big contract once the new tv money hits and qbs are making $55 million + a year.

But it would be in Jerrys favor to do the shorter contract because you can always add more years and money or let him walk if he cant job done or its crippling the team too bad. I mean this is really insane. Were talking about a slightly above average QB who wants tier one money.

I mean what's even the point of trying to get the #5 pick when Cesar Ruiz won't even be there...Pfft!

Ruiz is a once in a lifetime player, that can play every position on the OL, LS, RB, HB, FB, TE, every position on DL, every LB position, punt, return punts, return kicks, kick FG's, do kickoffs and also do onside kicks. In HS when he was still growing, he played QB and WR on offense and S and CB on defense. So yes, he can play any of those positions in a pinch as well. He also played basketball, baseball, ran track and was even on the swimming team where he almost made the Olympics in 2016...at age 16!!

Nope...no chance of getting Ruiz at #5. It's gonna be Ruiz or Burrow and then Young #3.

Makes complete sense why Dak wants to do it. At the end it is about making big money so he can get another big contract in 4 years and keep up with the QB salaries instead of those back years being big bargains for the team. It also goes along with Dak betting himself, which he has done so far.

Its been reported to be length for a year now. Its length. But yah, you can ignore it all and just think that he wants 40 million like the trolls want to push.

Sad part is he is typically right. With Garrett at the helm the Cowboys were an accident waiting to happen.

How many win or go home games did we lose under Garrett? With the last one being the 2nd Philly game I think we were something like 2-9 under the horrid Garrett. In the biggest games of his career the teams were unprepared mentally, they game plan was faulty and conservative, and the in game management was horrendous.
But now he will be screwing up the Giants offense for years.

I mean its pretty clear that there are several posters that have a very strong bias against Dak

Any Cowboy board is infested with trolls and purveyors of the extreme; the moderate and sensible have to navigate the deck of a ship bouncing in a hurricane half the time.

All that said.....and while I don’t like this particular trade scenario, I could envision Dak being moved because some of some of the points Max made.

Dak is good. Sometimes’good’ is the enemy of ‘great.’ Plus with how much Dak is asking for.....

For us old schoolers, I’d say it’s like Danny White demanding Roger money (in a modern setting).

I like Dak, but this negotiation is turning into a side show and belies the leadership qualities Dak has.

Dak is a good QB, but if he was traded for a shot at a top 5 QB......I wouldn’t throw my beer at the TV.
