-There is alot of intrigue in in the 1st. Seems like more than most years, but I guess you could say that every year

- Sourced info has been all over the place. Especially this week. One outlet says we are looking to do this. Another says we are looking to do something completely different. Could be disinformation. Could be info is more scarce due to Covid 19. Could be both. Wouldn't surprise me if what happens with the Cowboys at 17 is something that wasn't reported and/or contradicts what has been reported

- CJ Henderson is an interesting figure in this draft. Through out the process, he has been considered the consensus #2 CB by media scouts. However there have reports that some teams actually have him higher than Okudah. Last week there were rumors teams where looking to trade up around the top 10 for Henderson. He is going to be an interesting person to watch this draft from the Cowboys perspective.

- Javon Kinlaw is another very interesting figure. With him its the fact that so much contradicting medical info has been put out. First it was his knee. Then it was his knee, hips and back. Then he was medically cleared or whatever. Also what is the Cowboys interest in this player. We seem to like him early, but I thought (and this could be inaccurate) I read a report that we werent that high on him.

- Chaisson seems to be the name that comes up most consistently with Dallas. But even then, he has a good solid 10 pick range of where he could go.

- I buy trading down for Ruiz more than I buy staying put and reaching for the 3rd best CB (Terrell or whoever). Seems more the Cowboys MO, and it reminds me of 2013 in that they didnt feel Eric Reid was worth 18 even though they liked him and moved off the pick. That tends to to get over shadowed due to the Floyd communion.

- If they are looking for a defender at 17, what happens if Juedy does fall? Either way that will be a great post draft read.

- Dont be shocked if they are proactive with Henderson or Chaisson. I think they might start working the phones around pick 10-12. Somewhere in there. Keep an eye on Okudah too, especially if Henderson does in fact leapfrog him. If they did their due diligence, then they are most likely very high on him

Would love to Okudah or Kinlaw but both of them are not going to fall to us at 17

Do not trade up in the 1st for a CB. Maybe trade up in the end of the 1st for a CB/S if one drops they really like - but not above 17

Interesting take on Ruiz vs a CB. I tend to agree with the point.

Much more of a sure thing than a Fulton/Diggs/Terrell.

In the end though, which we tend to forget this time of year, is the bust rate on these guys is way higher than we keep in mind. We should be happy to add good players regardless of position.

If they trade back, they can most likely still get one of the second tier CB's. I would advocate that over taking Ruiz, just much more need.

My take is tomorrow could be chaotic. In the dry run one GM didn't have enough bandwidth due to his kids I-Pads and other GMs forgot to mute their mikes when they were talking.

I watched film of Okudah and Henderson and I think Henderson is better. Maybe I need to watch more film. Okudah is good, but I don't see how he is a top 10 pick. To me, Okudah is a 12-20 pick and Henderson is a 10-15. I think Okudah will go earlier than I think though.

I also think Diggs is going to go earlier than we think. Maybe we (the fans) won;t want him at 17, but I won;t be shocked if Okudah and Henderson are gone and Denver takes Diggs.

I look at it this way. Between 17 and 51 there are 32 players going to be picked. If Dallas loves a guy projected to go in the middle of the 2nd round and they can't work out a trade down, then take him at 17 because there is no other option. If it turns out to be Terrell, or Delpit, or McKinney, so be it.

It appears to me, that almost every team wants to move back this year. There are a few blue chippers, but after that, there could be similar ranked players from 11-40. There is an opportunity to go get a player, but will be extremely difficult to trade back and get good draft capital in return. We could see the Cowboys move back and take less just to not have to take a player way early.

Im guessing we get a late 3rd to drop past 25

Not a great return, but probably the best we are probably going to get. Question is, who are their primary trade down targets? CB's, Murray, Baun, Gross-Matos, Ruiz, both safeties? I don't think they will target a WR in that scenario.

Late first could be a sweet spot for CB IMO. Even if they higher than expected, you should still get one of Terrell, Diggs, or Fulton. All of whom we have been attached too. Ruiz could be the target. Gross-Matos might go to high. I can see him in the top 20

You would think they have to grab a CB by 51, they can wait on a WR. I believe we are going to see a defensive heavy class.

Here is the trade value chart: https://www.drafttek.com/nfl-trade-value-chart.asp

If we trade down to 25 with Minnesota we should get 25, 89 and 105 in return. They may not want to give up those picks to move up 8 spots though unless they are in love with a player.
You cant go by those charts. Each team has it own chart, and trade compensation varies by trade.

Stephan Jones was questioned about only getting a 3rd round pick in 2013 and he responded it being good value based their chart

Youtube videos are not "film". Film implies coaches film.

Henderson is more athletic but a much higher risk of not living up to his draft status. He could easily be Morris Claiborne.

The trade chart is the best way to speculate on trades. I gives a guideline.

But it's just that. Speculation. You cant have an expectation of compensation based any one chart because teams use differents.

History tells us that the Cowboys view a move from 18 to 31 to have about a 3rd round value. Stephan himself said it was good value based on their chart
