This is such a great start to not having Garrett or marannelli influencing the draft!
I don't even think those 2 could have messed this up.

One, Garrett has had little draft influence for years. He was assigned his opinion.

Two, Marinelli would have tried but I think after Taco and Trysten, the Jones family would have had Rod hooked up to an old school Atari, plugged into a black & white TV, playing Pong. "Yeah Rod, that's how it's supposed to look!"

Coop, gallup, lamb, zeke, pollard

Run n shoot with Pollard as a WR/RB hybrid. Giggity. I doubt that's what we're getting, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

I dunno, but bloody hell is that a nice offensive lineup! That's incredibly hard to stop. Now we just need Dak to be at his best. He's got the tools now.

Does any team that claims to have an elite quarterback need to surround him with a 1 at rb and 2 1s and a 3 at wr?
The point of having an elite quarterback is to multiply the effect of the guys around him. Not vice versa.

Still hope Lamb is awesome. He probably will be.

How does a celebration over a really great draft pick turn into a slam our QB post? We get plenty of that in other threads. Dak may not be elite but he's still a good QB, and he's going to stay our QB. That's not going to change.
This thread is about a tremendous 1st round draft pick for the Cowboys.

I didn't prep for the draft at all this year and this thread is basically my first look at Lamb. So don't get mad at me for asking this, it's an honest question.

I'm seeing lots of people saying he was the best WR in the draft, even "unanimously" the best WR in the draft, a clear top 10 pick, etc. So if that's true, why did we get him at 17, and why was he the 3rd WR off the board?

I don't know all the specifics but from what I had read and clips I've seen, he was definitely a highly rated 1st round talented WR and he looked impressive in the video clips. Excellent hands and quite elusive after the catch.

Remember that crazy one handed catch against the Cowboys by OBJ? Check this video of CeeDee Lamb:

I can't even remember the last time I felt this good about a first round pick. That being said I felt pretty good about Gregory, the last time I felt good and it was wrong. I knew Martin was good, I still remember that Christmas analogy that they had and it is so true, you were expecting a xbox and you got socks.
