Need is largely irrelevant. You have to take players who can play. Reaching for need gets you nowhere and a swing and a miss.

Did you feel all warm and fuzzy after the Taco pick? How about now? That fuzzy feeling didn’t last, did it??

I thought they gave up on Taco too quickly. RDE is still a need.

Top two picks tomorrow need to be defense...

hell I’d trade up to secure a safety if a run on them starts

This is such a jersey selling move by jerrrruh taking Lamb it’s stupid

So WHAT elite defensive player would you have taken? Would you have been giddy if Lamb went to the Eagles?

Horrible pick. We just lost our best CB/ Safety and we go for glamour?

Your thoughts

I couldn't disagree more. Lamb is a top 10 talent. The other players aren't near the prospect Lamb is. Cowboys went best player available and Lamb was that by far.

you can't pass up a talent like that.
defense the bigger need.
but talent trumps need every time.
he was CLEARLY the best player on the board.

I don't know. I guess I'm in the minority but when I watch Lambs game film I'm just not super impressed. Hopefully I'm wrong, but with so many bigger needs it seems like a foolish pick to me.

We’ve needed safeties for years lol. Heath got burned often and couldn’t tackle to save his life. Jones was above average but nothing special. Plenty of safeties and DBs to choose from still.

Now that they added Lamb, the Cowboys can use the rest of the picks to address defense. All of the safeties are still around. A handful of corners and even a few decent edge guys are still there.

Great great pick!! The defense is good, yes they didn’t play well last season. It was the scheme that was the problem. Richard and LBs coach fighting about how to play the LBs, he had the CBS playing not to give up the big play. Chico really should be one of the safeties, Heath should have never been starting, Donavon Wilson should have been the other starting safety, it should have been Jones, Lewis , Wilson and Chido as the starting secondary. ABrown as the nickel, Olumba and M Jackson should have been active every week, but we lost him off the practice squad and then released Olumba,
The coaching staff was the issue with this team the whole 91/2 yrs, the staff that Jerry put together . The HC was good but Jerry wouldn’t let him coach. So Jerry and his hand picked staff that he saddled Garrett with has been our issue the past 9 yrs.

The talent gap between Lamb and the remaining defensive players was significant this was the right pick. There are holes on defense, but there are quite a few secondary players and dline that will be good value in round 2. Who did you want over Lamb?

3rd WR was a big need too. We still are gonna draft DL/CB/S.

You’re wrong. He lead the NCAA in receiving yards since 2017. Now that’s saying something.
Maybe so but even when I watch a highlight reel of his I'm thinking that 'he's not going to be able to do half of that vs an NFL defense' I hope I'm wrong because that offense is going to need to score high unless they can really nail some key defensive positions going forward
