If they had him at 6, even on the big board where needs are not considered, I would question the construction of that board. But if they did, not to take him at 17 would be stupid unless they were offered a great trade by any team except the Eagles. Keeping him from them, where he was very much more needed is the best part of that pick. Force them to reach for a WR.

Jerry said they had a high grade on Chaisson and sounded like if Lamb was not there, Chaisson was the pick.

wonder where Chaisson was rated

Had to be high

"“It was a heavy, not a heavy, but a serious thought. We talked about it. It was a key point to think about going that direction. All of our group really spoke to it. The facts are we’ve been speaking about him relative to other potential defensive players. If the decision time should come, if you had a choice on the board. So like I say... and I must go ahead and finish it... as much as we thought of him, and we thought a lot of him, CeeDee just took the day.

Dialing in perspective divisionally...
Skins took Chase Young at 2
Cowboys take Lamb at 17
Two home run picks of equal value positionally IMO, but we hammered it 15 picks later!
15 picks later is meaningless, a round 1 pick is a round one pick regardless of where you pick.

16 other teams, which = 1/2 the nfl passed on lamb in round one, so they obviously didnt think
he was superman.
most teams value top linemen and QB's over other positions in round 1.

Lamb needs to be great for this pick to be a good pick .

You might argue a free all expense paid vacation to the Bahamas, with a luxurious beach side dinner thrown in.
