I think the CeeDee Lamb pick at 17 was the nail in the coffin for Dez's hope of coming back as a receiver for the Cowboys.... I wouldn't be surprised if he signs with Philly for close to the vet minimum if he wants to return to the NFL.

Who knows, though.. He bleed blue and might not want to play for a division rival....but the Eagles need receivers.

I'd hate to see him in green, but... the Cowboys don't need him.

The coffin already had all its nails.

I disagree. Had Dallas not drafted a receiver at all, there was still a need at the position and so therefore a chance. I'd have been okay with vet minimum to kick the tires in training camp. Now? No way.

I had him pegged as a potential #4 receiver for this team anyway if he did come back. With a specialized role in short yardage and goal line package stuff.

I don't think that's changed all that much.

How can Dez come back now? He lost his jersey number to Lamb.

I don’t think so. You still have a need for that Witten-type, ‘third and goal from the 3’ inside slant body. He was never going to be that outside dynamite 50/50 ball guy if he came back, so Lamb isn’t taking anything from him.

Philly can’t use Dez though, we have 4 receivers right now and 3 are Dez archetype. Part of the reason we took the most anti-Dez WR in the first.

but I do think he has good football left and can give someone 600+ yards next year of quality production. Jones would benefit a lot by having him in NY

Even had Dallas not taken a receiver, I didn't expect to see Dez back with the Cowboys. That ship has sailed.

I thought it was a small chance at best, but still a chance if they didn't draft or sign a different free agent. But there's not even that hope for him now. However a lot of teams need depth at the position and might kick the tires.

There's also the possibility someone on some team gets hurt in training camp. However, me saying there was a small chance is not the same as saying I wanted it.

LOL we cut that fool in 2018. It took him half a season to even get signed by another team and 2 days after that he blows his achilles. He hasn't played since and people actually believed we would resign him. He hasn't been worth a damn in about 6 years. Such nonsense.

I mean realistically Dez was always going to be at BEST a #4 receiver here. I'm not sure if he knew that or the fans but they were always addressing the slot position in the draft some how or way. And he's not better than Gallup or Cooper.

Besides....last I saw Dez said he can play tight end.

You guys want him? You could probably get him cheap and Wentz will have someone else to throw to. Or they can ride the pine together when they're both injured.

Yeah, I don't see him actually playing TE. Hopefully Dallas doesn't have to see their 4th receiver on the field too often.

Dez is one of my favorites and I'm rooting for him...but I don't see Dez playing ANYTHING in the NFL at this point. Hope I'm wrong though.

Our receivers last year were big and slow ‘go up and get it’ JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Mack Hollins, and Alshon Jeffery.

we needed the opposite of Dez. Once Desean went down, everyone knew Agholor couldn’t catch a cold so all safeties came in as we had no deep guys. We were essentially 5 TE’s wide. Dez would just be a 6th.

We took what we Desperately needed in the first round (not saying it wouldn’t have been Lamb if he was there). But there were clear reasons we needed Reagor over Jefferson

One of these days - hopefully - fans will get over Dez and Romo coming back and saving the day.

I think Reagor was a bit of a reach at this point, but I get why the Eagles took him.

That's how I saw it. I appreciated Dez while he was here. I look forward to seeing him back on the field at some point next year...on a diff team.
You’re gonna be disappointed.
