Yes, they may not have interviewed him by zoom or skipe or whatever, this is not a Claiborne redo.
No need to be the contrarian here, as much as I wanted all defense all the time - you just cant not take him when he falls in your lap.

I'm stuck on "the crowd he was hanging with". Perhaps that is his family? Perhaps those are his friends? Perhaps that was his gf? That is what I saw....would love to hear what YOU saw.

Morris Claiborne was the last player the Cowboys drafted in the first round without interviewing. According to their scouts, Claiborne was the highest-graded corner since Deion Sanders.

Everyone graded Claiborne high. Had the Cowboys not taken him someone would've right behind him. It wasn't a reach. Now you can argue they shouldn't have traded up for him.
