This guy is my pet cat this year.

Reggie Robinson II, CB

School: Tulsa | Year: Senior (RS)
DJ's Big Board Ranking: 84
Production Score: 79
Athleticism Score: 93
OVERALL DRAFT SCORE: 89

This Tulsa product has the physical traits you look for in a cornerback, when it comes to size, speed and length. Robinson (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) ran a 4.44 40-yard dash, leaped 11-feet in the broad jump and put up 22 reps in the bench press. His performance at the combine earned him an athleticism score of 93 according to the NGS model (fourth among the 2020 cornerbacks), and his production at Tulsa as a four-year starter was good enough for a 79 production score. His 89 overall draft score was the highest of any cornerback from this year's class. Robinson offers strong value on Day 2, especially if he makes it to the later part of the third round.

ESPN totally skipped this pick, ***.
Not true. Mel Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah both really liked him. Mel Kiper’s most improved DB last season.

I really like this pick. Could easily be an upgrade over Awuzia( spelling?) and Brown!!

STRENGTHS

—Primarily played corner at Tulsa but projects well as a slot corner/safety hybrid.

—Versatility for days; can match up on the outside with bigger receivers, in the slot with tight ends or with running backs out of the backfield.

—Recovered from an injury his junior year to have his most productive season in 2019 with three interceptions.

—Can play press at the line of scrimmage against receivers or tight ends.

—Height, weight, speed winner (6'1", 205 lbs, 4.44-second 40-yard dash)

WEAKNESSES

—Struggled to mirror in man coverage; will most likely be a slot corner in the NFL.

This player screams teach me and work MY backside off!

Terrible scouting report.

I just reviewed 3 full games.

Also, it was 4 INTs in 2019.

Seems to be pretty mixed reports on this guy. I dont know much about him.

Almost feels like he could be a better fit at Safety than corner, or am I off here?
Watch some video of him. I disagree with some on here. I think he looks fluid and has good change of direction. I think he will be a good corner. To me, he actually looks more fluid than Diggs. Both good picks!

I wrote this in the draft thread about him:

“Draft profile/media guys don’t really know this guy. I wouldn’t put much stock in their rankings on him.

NFL teams are much, much higher on Robinson.

Very good pick. Very“

He does not "need" to move to Safety; although, he could likely do it. He played Safety in High School.

I've reviewed him in 3 full games. He is a solid man coverage CB and has no problems in zone.

He was a late bloomer and really came on his final season with 4 INTs and 17 passed defensed in 2019.

The draft media is often off on players that played their Senior year. The draft media generally reviews players based on their Junior year. When the player returns for their Senior year, the draft media often don't appear to put much effort into updating their draft notes on the player.

Is it just me or do this guy and Diggs both have very strong punches at the LOS? Could we actually play a little press coverage this year? Will we finally tell our guys to re-route at the snap to disrupt timing? God forbid we actually try to dictate to the offense for once...

From a fan's perspective (and limited knowledge), this is the best draft the Cowboys have had in the 15 or so years I've been following the draft as an adult.

They need to do a virtual draft every year.

Dont see he it. He is a press CB

Correct, I don't get this at all. Awuzie and Lewis are up next year. Lewis is alright by Awuzie has regressed and outside of Byron who really just got very little action our CBs were completely underwhelming. I like that we nabbed two of them. Brown was the one paid for a reason. He will at least range and be in on the play and is probably the right nickel corner. There is no reason why our two new CBs cannot be our starters next year. To me on D this is a 2-3 yr process. Next year we likely need to spend top 4 picks on the same areas of DL and secondary again with whatever we find. All of the FAs we signed we should expect will not be here 2 years from now.
