I would almost say, is this the best 4 Round haul of all time? I really like the CB and the C in the 4th. The C did win the award, as the top C in college football.

Very excited to see how these guys play over the next few years.

Considering their draft position, it might be up there, pound for pound. 2003, 2005, and 2011 were strong but those were drafts coming off losing seasons so they had higher picks in every round.

I read your post and I replied to you it. I told you LVE, Gallup and Connor and how we felt about them on draft day. You brought up how you felt about them now...so I don't know what to tell you.

Tell me you are doing ok. Staying safe and healthy. Tell me this was a good three rounds. You know the drill.

Too early to tell but I think as of now you'd have to think Gallup, Connor and LVE have the edge.

However on draft day it didn’t look as good. Many at least on this board weren’t that thrilled with the selection of LVE with our top pick. Connor Williams was the only one that really excited anyone with our first three picks. They all ended up developing into starters. At least on paper our first three picks this year look a lot better. We’ll just have to see how it plays out on the field.

2010 was also a very good draft getting Bryant at the end of first and Lee in the second. Granted none of the players drafted after that ended up living up to their potential (especially AOA) but those first two picks were crazy good.

I know it’s on paper but Dallas landed 3 guys in most top 50s. I am trying to remember if there was another 3 rounds that were more satisfying. I know it is impossible to tell if these guys will pan out.

Thoughts?

Yaaas! I love every bit of this draft!!!!!

People weren't excited about LVE because they weren't familiar with him. He was considered a 1st rounder. A lot of people even on draft day thought Connor, LVE and Gallup were 1st round talents.

He was considered a first rounder but not where we took him in the first round. Many considered him a reach. I was watching ESPN’s draft coverage and when the Cowboys were on the clock, LVE’s name never came up as a possible selection. The pick took them all by surprise. Didn’t hear anything about Gallup being a first round talent. Not going spend all day on this so don’t even think about it. lol

For reference

2010: 2 All Pro's. We traded up for both picks. Those trades cost us a 3rd and 4th

2011: 2 All Pro's. However both day 2 picks left after rookie contract

2014: 2 All Pro's. We traded our 3rd to move up for Lawrence

We have 3 drafts in the last 10 years that have produced multiple All Pro's in the first 3 rounds. However outside of 2011, we had to be very agressive in doing so. 2011 we were also picking in the top.

Dont know if we get multiple All Pro's, but I think it may have been the most efficient first 2 days we have had in a long time

Gallup was ranked well down the list by many at WR. Naturally the rankings vary but he was well down the list on the ones I saw. He was ranked eighth here.

Zack Martin is a top 3 guard in the NFL, Demarcus Lawrence is a 20m+$ DE, Anthony Hitchens is a super bowl champion LB.

That’s not bad
Hitchens was 4th rounder. Doesnt count towards this thread.

As far as recent drafts, I give that one the edge over 2011 even considering we traded a 3rd to get Lawrence. 2011 we got Tyron and Murray, whom were both All Pro's. But Murray only played his rookie deal in Dallas. Plus he only had two 1,000 yard seasons

As far as the last 10 years, going by OP's parameters, I would rate

2014
2010
2011

Yes if we're talking about value from where we picked. The board I was looking at had our 3 players at 11, 38, and 46. We got them with picks 17, 51, and 82. I can't remember the last time we did better than that. A lot of teams seemed to be reaching for positions of need. I realize players fall in every draft, but rarely do I remember them doing so at the positions we're hoping to pick.
Funny how the article I read this morning gave us a "C" on our draft after the first 3 rounds.
