This entire thread was based on McCarthy saying the Cowboys have some CBs that can play safety. It's literally in the OP. And, okay, it indicated he said "some" and I said "several", but "some" is at least more than one, so he wasn't limiting to Robinson only.

Nobody on the Dallas defense really played very well last year. The whole bunch was off and they all knew that the coaches would likely be gone. It killed the whole defense and how the players played.

I wouldn’t draw many conclusions about any player from 2019... I certainly wouldn’t look at Awuzie and say that he was a bust because of last year. How he performs this year with the new staff will tell us what we need to know about him and the other players.

Could Chido play safety? Yeah, he could. He did at Colorado and some teams were looking at him as a safety in the draft that year.

Will the team move him to safety? I very much doubt it.

Meh. Trying Byron Jones out at safety ended up setting him and the defense back.

I’d prefer to let safeties play safety and corners play corner.

Totally agree, I think most of the problems were about the scheme. Its like the post-Claiborne million sacks game in Atlanta where teams overplayed the short game and it took time (and Amari Cooper) for the team to adjust.

The new scheme should work wonders, "Awuzie can't cover" will go the way of "Dak has no pocket presence".
