I enjoyed sitting next to my friend that is a fan of the eagles. He was getting upset as the top tier Wr's kept falling off the board Ruggs, Jeudy, and then Lamb! It made my night when he said: "why did you guys take a Wr, you're already loaded at that position, I hate the Cowboys"! I replied, we needed someone to replace Cobb, and we hate the eagles too! Yes, it was magical...

And we're off ...
This is a big yes. I'm a Longhorn and Sooner fan so this is big yes. I had no idea wed be able to get this guy. He is compared to DeAndre Hopkins! Hopkins! One of the top 5 to 6 receivers in the league if healthy. If this is true he has a chance to be better than or at least as good as Cooper. Gallup's potential is very high as well, but Lamb probably gives us the best reciever trio in the league

You get better by strengthening areas of weaknesses. Wr is not one of our areas of weakness. I like the player but this was a perfect opportunity for Jerry to get his lazy butt on the phone and see if the Dolphins might want a wr to go with their new franchise Qb and maybe parlayed this into an early second rounder and a 1st round pick in next years draft.

IMO: This was Jerry Jones not passing on Randy Moss.

I think that decision has always haunted him (an this organization) and this is one way to help exercise that demon.

I was expecting a defensive pick at #17, but this guy is a monster, with a great catch radius and elusiveness.

Initially I wasn't that happy. Seems like a dagger through the heart for my plans for Pollard to be our 5th man in the base. Not upset either. It was obviously a reasonable play. Picking up money on the street. Made me happier when I looked through the rest of the 1st round. Not much I wanted there.

Any word on what teams offered? I wouldn't have given up a top 10 player without a significant value premium over the 17th pick. More like a 12th pick for total value. There was a lot of player value in the 2nd.

Fantastic value to drop to us at 17. Maybe we could have converted that value into more improvement to the team, particularly in the near term.

Is it too late to use him (or any of our draftees) as trade bait? Not that I actually want to, but just for argument's sake.

How is this not 100% ... other than Eagles fans (or other rival fans), mikejoneswannabemattjones, and super troll Rockport?

I will gladly laugh at anyone that says this was a bad pick in sort of way and no longer take any football take of theirs with an once of credibility.

I would have liked a DL, DE, S or even an OL, but you can’t pass on a top 5 guy falling to you at 17. Just can’t.

If he’s what he’s supposed to be, it makes our WR core top 3 in the NFL
And it gives us leverage with Dak.

I like Dak, but if he doesn’t bring his number down to something within reason, every QB in the league would be willing to take his place.
