Players we should upgrade in bold

DT: Poe, McCoy, Gallimore, Hill, Woods
DE: Lawrence, Crawford, Smith, Gregory, Armstrong, Anae, Jackson, Jelks
LB: Vander Esch, Smith, Lee, Thomas, Gifford, March Covington
CB: Awuzie, Diggs, Lewis, Brown, Robinson, Canady, Goodwin

We are tight for roster spots on defense. Crawford we could cut to save cap space or upgrade to improve top end of pass rush

good effort. We probably won’t carry that many WRs. So we’ll keep Woods at DT. If the talk about “multiple” fronts is true, we will need a guy like him.

I think they still need help at safety at defensive tackle. Would love to see another big body nose tackle brought in along with a veteran safety. Former Packer Morgan Burnett would fit good here as quality veteran depth/backup who can spot start for you at Safety.

defensive tackle? I don’t see how that’s a need at all anymore

CB is done. Forget about kirkpatrick. If they can add anything it should be at safety maybe another pass rusher in case our DE’s aren’t eligible, maybe another linebacker since one is a health risk, one had a crap season last year and the other is 57 years old, and a swing tackle. Backup Qb upgrade is a nice to have but not that worried about it.

Still think we need another pass catching TE. Jarwin just gets an ankle and we are in big trouble. The Dozer and Schultz are all we have.

I don’t see much of anything happening with vet free agents now.

OL - totally set with quality starters at every position. Youth at Center, OG, And tackle. Williams will still start at LG, I believe, but he can play positions along the line in backup duty.

RB set, starters and backups and PS.

WR set with some guys we were high on last year possibly being pushed by UFA rookies.

TE set with Jarwin and two young guys who can block better and still catch the ball.

QB.....maybe a vet if cheap, but I don’t see Dallas looking there this year unless Rush and the other 2 look like garbage in camp.

DL is set....Plenty of DT and DE with a horde of edge tryout guys from draft and UDFAs.

Secondary is set....I am satisfied with safeties Woods, Dix, Wilson, Thompson (Frazure still lurking)
CBs....set. Bringing in a vet would mean cutting a rookie. Brown, Awuzie, Lewis aren’t going anywhere, plus two rookies and CJ who is key to special teams.

I think we are much better at LB than some believe.
Smith and LVE are the young starters. Lee can play all positions. Thomas has played well at every chance. Gifford and March need opportunities.

We will bring in competition at punter.

I am surprised nobody is bringing up RDE?
Probably because any guy who helps is very expensive
And I think the team knows what gonna happen as far as being availible with our two suspended guys

We are tight for roster spots on defense. Crawford we could cut to save cap space or upgrade to improve top end of pass rush

Crawford:
I don't see Crawford being cut. They can't really count on Gregory or Aldon Smith. It's a bonus if they play but counting on them seems like a bad idea.
- In 2018 Crawford at RDE on run downs with Gregory at RDE on passing downs was good. Anae could play snaps in that passing downs role.

DT:
DT Woods will make the 53. Poe has been injured often. Gallimore is a 3tech type DT.

Swing Tackle:
The 3rd OT is likely Brandon Knight. He started 1 game last season and was on the 53 while Hyatt was on the practice squad.
- Hyatt does project better at LT than Knight due to better movement skills but Hyatt was not good in training camp. He was easily over-powered.

Strong Safety:
- They're moving Woods to SS but none of them have much if any experience at SS.
- Both Woods and Ha Ha have been Free Safeties.
- Woods has limited size/length to play SS and his tackling when up near the box has been lukewarm.
- Thompson started 16 game at FS for the Giants in 2017. His tackling last season when replacing Heath at SS was beyond terrible.
- Donovan Wilson shows some SS traits but he only played FS in the preseason games last year.

FB:
I don't "hate" Olawale like many fans seem to in the posts I see here; however, I'm interested to see if the udfa RB from TCU can block. He was a Bull as a RB with several plays where he gains yards down near the goalline with a pile of defenders on his back.

TE:
Schultz was blocking well in the 2nd half of 2018 after Swaim was on IR and Witten was gone that season but Bell appears to be the blocking TE now.

Would still love to sign CB Dre Kirkpatrick and a free agent backup QB and find a better punter

Maybe a punter, but can't see the Cowboys bringing in Dre. They already have their top 5 Cbs likely set and the coaching staff seems to value Goodwin and Cannady particularly as special teamers. If there's an opportunity to upgrade at a resonable cost I'm for it, but Cowboys probably think they're set.

Awuzie
Lewis
Brown
Diggs
Robinson
Goodwin
Cannady
Westry
White
Smith

Agree with @darthseinfeld we are done at corner at this time. Got 3 vets in Awuzie, Lewis and Brown, we drafted two along with some projects on the backend too.

Think punter may be addressed but backup qb is set for now as well

We're too thin at CB for my liking.

I mean, what if they carpool and there's an accident?

If both Gregory and Smith are reinstated, we are done there. We have some good youth to choose from for depth (Anae, Jelks, Jackson)

Although I welcome the possibility of both players being reinstated and capable of performing at an NFL starter level. Neither has taken a snap in years.

Young depth is what it is. Young depth.

Are we really wanting to win the whole thing or not?

Cooper Rush sucks. I guess that's the mentality. Have such dreadful backup QB options like Rush, White and DiNucci that you'll happily accept Prescott.

The only positions I’m not terribly comfortable with are SS, P, backup OT and backup QB. The safety position is my biggest concern. Woods and Ha-Ha are average starters at best and neither are true strong side safeties.

According to Broaddus, Smith is likely in. Gregory is a toss up.

You still have ... Smith, Crawford, Jelks, Jackson, Anae and several UDFA

Smith hasn't had a snap in several + season's. Crawford is not much of a pass rush coming off the edge, he is coming off an injury and may be a cut waiting to happen. Dorance Armstrong, Jelks, Jackson and Anae are unproven at a critical defensive position at the NFL level.

I would bring in Marcus Mariotta as a backup.

Look for another Safety too.

Dallas not getting Chaisson really backed themselves into a corner of needing to get lucky at defensive end.

That's a good response however our 2 suspended guys getting reinstated does not mean they'll be starter quality as they have not taken any NFL snaps in years.

Cooper Rush has been "The" backup QB for the past 3 seasons. The team seems to trust him despite the fact that most fans seem to hate him.
I'm not paying $2.1M for Rush to be the backup.

Also the team doesn't seem to set on Rush anymore, since they interviewed a couple of QBs for the draft.

Regardless, that doesn't mean we are set at the position.
