That's a good response however our 2 suspended guys getting reinstated does not mean they'll be starter quality as they have not taken any NFL snaps in years.
Very true
Smith is the one that has so much to overcome to get back
But looking at how hard he’s worked physically is a good sign
And if he can be half of what he was he could be huge
Gregory hasn’t been gone as long but has so little experience for all these years and I don’t know if he has been doing what he needs

Swing Tackle: This scares me. If Tyron were to be out several games, the season would be done as in burnt toast done unless CW is an option there.

TE: Jarwin is going to be the 4th option in the passing game and maybe even the 5th when Zeke or Pollard run pass routes. OJ Howard would be the starter. He has 1 year remaining on his rookie contract. I'm convinced that Kellen Moore really likes Jarwin. I think Moore wanted more snaps for Jarwin last season and less for Witten but it took great restraint for Garrett to only play Wiitten 70-ish percent of the snaps instead of 100%...

Punter: Was Chris Jones bad all of last year? I really don't remember. He had been good in prior years.

WR: They have a lot of maybes but no legit depth. I think Pollard can do anything that Tavon Austin could do as a receiver or gadget play guy. I really want to see more snaps for Pollard with Zeke also on the field. I really don't know what happened with Devin Smith last season. I guess it came down to special teams with Tavon Austin as the punt returner and Ventell Bryant as a core special teams type.

Guard: They now have 4 guys competing for 2 spots. CW, McGovern, Looney and Biadasz for OC and LG. I would like to see CW cross-train at OT as well as OG. Brandon Knight was OK in the 1 start at RT last season but I just don't see him being the backup at LT. Having CW practice at LT would keep him on the left and not force him to also learn to play both sides.

Punter Returner: Who are the options to return punts with Tavon Austin not on the roster? Diggs did it his 1st two college seasons.

TE: The way I see it. Lamb takes Cobb 83 targets , Jarwin takes Witten's 83 targets and we still need someone better than Bell to take Jarwin's 41 targets. As good as our top 3 WR's are they'll still need a rest at some stage and is Jarwin as durable as Witten? Howard is overkill, but IMO we need something better than Bell to be a mix of 2nd TE and backup no.1. If Jarwin goes down for any length of time....what do we do?

Punter: Jones was bad, he had some injuries though so he may return to old form. I still want competition.

WR: Pollard can run the jet sweeps, but IMO he can run the routes Austin does as a no.4 WR. He did a lot on the outside when Cooper/Gallup were injured. It's more feasible with Lamb because he's more natural as an outside WR than Cobb was and maybe we can use different formations but for the 1m Austin might cost us, isn't it worth signing him?

Punt returner: Lamb was a returner for Oklahoma and Diggs was one for Alabama so they have pedigree as punt returners. Cedric Wilson has some experience for us, and Pollard could perhaps learn to do punts though he's more kick return. All options are better than "fair catch" Beasley.

Guard: Maybe you are right. If we cross train Connor WIlliams we can probably get away with it. I'd prefer nine O-linemen though, especially with the larger roster size.

Let’s go get Cam Newton and gat this season going. He may not be the long term answer but if he can regain his past form, he can ball out. He can throw with the best of them when healthy

53 man Roster
QB: Dak, Rush
RB: Zeke, Pollard, Olawale
TE: Jarwin, Bell, Shultz
WR: Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Smith, Wilson, Brown, V.Bryant
IOL: Martin, Williams, McGovern, Looney, Biadasz, Knight
OT: Smith, Collins, Hyatt
**24 Offense**
Players we should upgrade in bold

DT: Poe, McCoy, Gallimore, Hill, Woods
DE: Lawrence, Crawford, Smith, Gregory, Armstrong, Anae, Jackson, Jelks
LB: Vander Esch, Smith, Lee, Thomas, Gifford, March Covington
CB: Awuzie, Diggs, Lewis, Brown, Robinson, Canady, Goodwin
S: Clinton-Dix, Woods, Wilson, Thompson
**26 defender**

We are tight for roster spots on defense. Crawford we could cut to save cap space or upgrade to improve top end of pass rush

I believe roster go to 55 this year with the new CBA. One of those spot will surely go to keeping the 3rd developmental QB.

The only positions I’m not terribly comfortable with are SS, P, backup OT and backup QB. The safety position is my biggest concern. Woods and Ha-Ha are average starters at best and neither are true strong side safeties.

I'm fine with our starting safety arrangement, but should bring someone to compete for starting role and at worst good depth. I'm surprised we didn't draft a swing tackle this year and that is definitely a need. Kelvin Beachum, Corey Glenn, Jason Peters, Jared Veldher, and Marshall Newhouse are all guys with LT starting experience that we should inquire on. Tyron Smith has missed 3 games a year the last 4 years, so it's definitely a position of need. Punter and RDE insurance would also be good. Clowney, Griffen, and Wake, Sheard, Ansah, Suggs, Golden, Matthews, and Bennett are still out there.

I would bring in Marcus Mariotta as a backup.

Look for another Safety too.

Dallas not getting Chaisson really backed themselves into a corner of needing to get lucky at defensive end.
Really? Might want to catch up on signings from the last month or two.

I'm looking for a punter and a STRONG Safety.

I think they still need help at safety at defensive tackle. Would love to see another big body nose tackle brought in along with a veteran safety. Former Packer Morgan Burnett would fit good here as quality veteran depth/backup who can spot start for you at Safety.
I like Burnett or Tony Jefferson as depth for Safety.

If we lose Woods at DT there goes our quality depth. I’d rather cut Hill and take an L there....

I was thinking maybe brining in Tom Brady...

I could probably convince him to bring Gronk along too

The same person that thinks Dak isn't accurate thinks that Cam can throw with the best him.

Let's just say pretty poor QB evaluator.

Multiple needs but can’t address everything right now and for some we have people in the mix.

IMO SS is a need but I think we will ride with what we have on the roster

the 4 things we absolutely need to address before season starts are:

1. swing tackle
2. Back up QB
3. TE. I’m not sold on Jarwin but we definitely need insurance
4. PR/KR. No I don’t think we will use our rd 1 WR do it

Improvements I think we should consider:

Swing Tackle: Marshall Newhouse, Greg Robinson, James Hurst, TJ Clemmings
I would hope we seriously consider a swing tackle and there are some good options available that could be minor upgrades on Cameron Flemming. I'm not high on Hyatt and I thought we moved Knight to guard. I wouldn't want to spend more than 5m APY.

Tight End: OJ Howard, David Njoku, Adam Shaheen
If Jarwin gets injured who do we trust to catch a pass? I wouldn't mind giving up on the Shultz experiment and replacing him with someone that has caught a few passes even if it's just a small investment. Howard at 3.5m APY and a mid round pick is the max.

Punter: Laclan Edwards
Chris Jones sucked last year. We should consider bringing in some competition. 1m APY

Wide receiver: Tavon Austin
We obviously don't need a starter, and neither do we need a return guy (Lamb, Diggs & Pollard) but a 4th WR that is cheap and a bit more reliable than the options we have would be nice. Maybe a gadget guy that can run jet sweeps, play slot, and block. I'd actually prefer a young Dwayne Harris to Austin but nobody comes to mind. 1m APY

Guard: Ronald Leary
This is a only if we wanted Connor Williams to play tackle but we could bring in Leary to compete with Connor McGovern in that situation. We know he fits but wouldn't offer more than Sean lee type money. 4m APY
I didnt realize David Njoku was available

Players I'd sign after tomorrow

Cam if under $5M as a backup. Like Winston just did with the Saints

Clowney if at $15.5M or below or Griffen at $7.5 or less

Demar Dotson or Cordy Glenn for $3M or less

And my absolute favorite being Tony Jefferson pleaze!!!
