I wouldn't have thought so with getting Lamb, but with a likely move to a 3WR base offense, it still makes sense. I think we just became more of a passing team.
We were a passing team last year. Hopefully we become a more efficient passing team. Cobb wasnr very efficient last year

I don't think Cedric Wilson makes this team this season. He's not very coordinated if you watch game film.

Punter: Was Chris Jones bad all of last year? I really don't remember. He had been good in prior years.

Jones averaged 41.6 yards per punt last year and a net of 37.0. He ranked 30th among regular punters.

Swing Tackle: This scares me. If Tyron were to be out several games, the season would be done as in burnt toast done unless CW is an option there.

TE: Jarwin is going to be the 4th option in the passing game and maybe even the 5th when Zeke or Pollard run pass routes. OJ Howard would be the starter. He has 1 year remaining on his rookie contract. I'm convinced that Kellen Moore really likes Jarwin. I think Moore wanted more snaps for Jarwin last season and less for Witten but it took great restraint for Garrett to only play Wiitten 70-ish percent of the snaps instead of 100%...

WR: They have a lot of maybes but no legit depth. I think Pollard can do anything that Tavon Austin could do as a receiver or gadget play guy. I really want to see more snaps for Pollard with Zeke also on the field. I really don't know what happened with Devin Smith last season. I guess it came down to special teams with Tavon Austin as the punt returner and Ventell Bryant as a core special teams type.

Guard: They now have 4 guys competing for 2 spots. CW, McGovern, Looney and Biadasz for OC and LG. I would like to see CW cross-train at OT as well as OG. Brandon Knight was OK in the 1 start at RT last season but I just don't see him being the backup at LT. Having CW practice at LT would keep him on the left and not force him to also learn to play both sides.

Punter Returner: Who are the options to return punts with Tavon Austin not on the roster? Diggs did it his 1st two college seasons.

I had thought of CW as swing G/T, but nice idea of splitting swing T between CW at LT and Knight at RT.

I wanted a lot more of Pollard with Zeke on the field too. I wanted that as our base. He was that RB/WR gimmick we've been looking for for years finally coming to fruition. But I don't see them taking Lamb off the field for Pollard. Lamb may get some of those jet sweep opportunities instead.

Maybe Moore really juices it up with Pollard in and Jarwin out. That would be a wild formation.

Zeke + 3WR is the base, with Jarwin/Pollard/FB being the 5th man. Pollard and Jarwin are going to lose snaps with the signing of Lamb.

But maybe with Garrett gone, Zeke might actually lose snaps to Pollard as tailback. We could get a real rotation going. Maybe more Pollard on longer 3rd downs too. Pollard was a surprisingly good RB last year, and an NFL offseason should give him a little more power and burst.

It's fun to move beyond the "we do what we do" era.

The only positions I’m not terribly comfortable with are SS, P, backup OT and backup QB. The safety position is my biggest concern. Woods and Ha-Ha are average starters at best and neither are true strong side safeties.

Those first two for me are the trouble spots, because I'm not sure of the starters. I can understand the need for depth, but we don't have a bona fide strong safety on the roster and our punter was a shadow of himself last year, one of the worst in the league.

So many loved Cedrick so much from his first preseason. Now he's just hanging on. The main reason we might keep him is we have 3 more years of his rights. But he could easily be heading to career PS player.

I'd just like to know if people see what I see on Ced.

I know a lot of people are high on him but I see a guy that can get open ok, but really can't do much with the ball despite rac availability. He reminds me of a B-Leaguer that is thrilled to catch a pop fly until everybody starts yelling at him to throw the ball to 2nd base. He just stumbles, bumbles and crashes. His awkwardness exposes him to some big hits he doesn't need to take.

I'd move on.

Produced using every route in college
Was the 2nd most efficient WR in his entire draft class, behind only... Gallup
Had the 2nd most deep receiving yards in the entire nation his last season only behind James Washington
And very low drop %

Moving on after one season seems like a bad move.

The two extra game day roster spots make the OL management easier.

Teams generally don't play the starting WRs for 100% of the snaps. They'll likely want to limit Zeke's snaps also. RBs on average decline over a few years if they go over a certain number of snaps per season.

In college Pollard was often a lead blocker on outside runs by the other RB (The guy drafted by the Rams last year).

I would bring in Marcus Mariotta as a backup.

Look for another Safety too.

Dallas not getting Chaisson really backed themselves into a corner of needing to get lucky at defensive end.

Mariotta signed with the Raiders.

Yes..

Hitting on anything we have at Right End as of now would be lucky.

We are gambling on high risk players that have been out of football.

I understand high risk, but I believe their talent is still there.

Cooper Rush has been "The" backup QB for the past 3 seasons. The team seems to trust him despite the fact that most fans seem to hate him.
I agree with you ten fold! Rush was incredible in college... I know him well and he is a Catholic boy just like myself... He is way better than people believe.

53 man Roster
QB: Dak, Rush
RB: Zeke, Pollard, Olawale
TE: Jarwin, Bell, Shultz
WR: Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Smith, Wilson, Brown, V.Bryant
IOL: Martin, Williams, McGovern, Looney, Biadasz, Knight
OT: Smith, Collins, Hyatt
**24 Offense**
Players we should upgrade in bold

DT: Poe, McCoy, Gallimore, Hill, Woods
DE: Lawrence, Crawford, Smith, Gregory, Armstrong, Anae, Jackson, Jelks
LB: Vander Esch, Smith, Lee, Thomas, Gifford, March Covington
CB: Awuzie, Diggs, Lewis, Brown, Robinson, Canady, Goodwin
S: Clinton-Dix, Woods, Wilson, Thompson
**26 defender**

We are tight for roster spots on defense. Crawford we could cut to save cap space or upgrade to improve top end of pass rush

I can agree with a good portion of this. Except I don’t think Hill is here before Woods unless he had a helluva transfusion of maturity and talent. Maybe it was mostly Rod’s doghouse that kept him from being a contributor. We will certainly find out in camp.

I also think there are too many receivers on here. I think Brown and Bryant are done. I can see that group stopping after Wilson.

I certainly hope Crawford is upgraded. That salary is way too high for his production. We can do a lot more with that 8M cap figure to bring in better options.
