And that was it. No league leading RB, no top five OL, and he sure never had the WR talent that Dak has had and that position and it just became even stronger.
Like 13-3 and losing their 1st playoff game despite an NFL record TWELVE Pro Bowlers, like in 2007?

Don’t hurt yourself trying to sound like you know football, clown.

“DURRR AND THAT WAS IT!!!”

After watching some clips of Nooch, I said to my self it looks like they decided to draft the QB that most reminded them of Romo.

Something I kind of think is funny is that all the praise this draft is getting really comes down to one thing. All the picks basically came from the ongoing lists on consensus best available players. That has never happened before in Dallas. They typically are taking guys that many have rated much lower. You basically could have pulled off that same draft if you had no scouts and just compiled a list of everyone’s ranking off the internet and then watched the actual broadcast of the draft to see who everyone was saying was the best available and just stuck to one of the top 2 or 3. It appears to me that’s all you need to do to get an A+ grade but we’ll have to wait and see if it actually translates on the field.

Yeah, the guy is totally Romo. It's so funny. I'm happy we took a QB, as we really should make use of McCarthy's ability to develop them.

I similarly thought that the draft just fell in their laps. But they certainly deserve credit for making the trade for Biadasz. That didn't just fall in their laps. They had to make that happen. And it would have been very easy to say "we have enough at C". Cause we did. But getting him really improves the oline. It was looking phenomenal on starters and depth before Fredbeard retired and overturned a perfect fit for everyone. By getting a replacement for Fredbeard, we cleaned up LG and the backups. And Biadasz looks like really great value too. He was their best move of the draft, and it was a really good one that didn't just fall in their laps

In the list of reasons why Dallas didn't win a Super Bowl...Romo is way down on the list. Pretty much his entire time here he had Garrett as his coach, who everyone seems to agree was worthless. Jerry knows he did Romo wrong not getting him a better surrounding cast. I guess people forget the days of an OL with Phil Costa, David Arkin, Marco Rivera, castoffs from the Jets, Pat McQuistan, Montrae Holland, Bernadeau and Livings, Ryan Cook...those were definitely some awesome OL.

I fully believe getting rid of Leonard, Adams, Gurode and Colombo and replacing them with Livings, Costa, Free and Colombo was Garrett's doing. He knew the line needed to get better but his mind-set was that replacing them was part of the "process" so he would make do with castoffs and never-weres until he could build his line. He just never seemed to understand that while he was slowly constructing it other parts of the offense would either break down from wear and tear/age or leave.

A smart head coach might have still moved on from those players, but he would have also asked for pieces in the interim to help him win now, not backups to start in the interim. Some blame is on Jerry the GM for not providing those pieces anyway, but I believe its the coach's voice that matters most in this. I have not seen any coach here not get what they ask for (that's not who Jerry is as an owner).

Was McCarthy the Green Bay coach that wanted Romo or was that before his time?

Love to hear about Moore and McCarthy working together on designing the offense even with the draft coming up. I don't want the GB offense, I want a merge of Moore and McCarthy.

On Dinucci - I was thinking Romo too as I watched a little film on him escaping in the pocket. Romo with a little more zip and strength in his legs. I wondered about the arm strength, though. Lots of passes looked like real floaters way too soft for NFL tempo.

"Larry Allen strength and speed." That's some compliment. And seems like a big time RKG. It's funny. Mr. RKG leaves, and we don't take a single head case that I'm aware of.

I did like seeing how when running backs ran into Gallimore, he seemed to just stop them in their tracks. No extra yards, no driving him back, just boom, you're done.

Well he had hall of famed Terrell Owens and hall of famer Jason Witten.....

And Glenn in 2006. Ownes, Glenn, and Witten in 2006 was the best set of weapons Romo ever had. Too bad he had them in his first year when he didn't even get starter snaps in training camp.

Glenn blowing out his knee was a tragedy for The Team That Parcells built. A healthy Glenn and we make it to the SB in 2007. And don't even think of making the Roy Williams trade.

Here is question for the ages with no right answer. Who was the worst Cowboys center in their history Costa or Shiver? I am going Shiver by a nose.

Loved me some Terry Glenn...the one Parcells guy who was worth anything.

By the playoffs, we had Glenn trying to come back from his injury, an injured Owens mostly serving as a decoy and Witten. We needed Patrick Crayton to step up but the role was too big for him. A healthy Glenn and Owens would have made a huge difference.
