How would you feel about this recieving core?

Amari Cooper
Micheal Gallup
CeeDee Lamb
Devin Smith
Noah Brown
Dez Bryant

What if Dez is that veteran presence he's referring too?

Cooper is not coming off the field, not after I just gave him $100 million

Gallop is not coming off the field, not after he just broke 1,000 yards last season

CeeDee Lamb dam sure aint coming off the field, not after I just burned a 1st on him.

So whats left for Dez? Guarding the waterbucket?

Don't forget teams will be cutting some pretty good players in a few months to get down to 53, That's where I would look for safety help unless we can swing a deal.

People tend to drool in it. What can I say? It needs guarding!

Griffin and Matthews would make the defense pretty solid. I’d be more than comfortable with it, even if HaHa and Woods are our best safety options. Maybe they bring in one too?

I just don’t know that they feel it is as weak as a lot of us do. It seems like it is the lowest priority on the list of upgrades for the defense.
Because a Haha and Woods combo is average at worse, much more likely to be better as Haha’s been above average each year outside of the second half of 2018 (skins days). If you go by PFF especially, we should have a solid S combo. Not spectacular, but definitely not an exploitable weakness. Remember one thing Haha has proven to do is intercept the ball.

I like this but where do you factor in giving adams an extension that Earl Thomas wanted a year ago, which was too rich for us then.

1. Trade next year’s 1st for Jamal Adams.
2. Cut Crawford to save $8 million.
3. Sign Dak, save money.
4. Sign Everson Griffin.

Lawrence-McCoy-Poe-Griffin
Aldon-Woods-Gallimore-Gregory
Anae-Hill-Armstrong

LVE-Jaylon
Lee-Harris

Chido-Diggs-Lewis
Brown-Robinson-Canady

Adams-Haha-Woods

We’d be Super Bowl favorites. And all those things are easily doable.

I know everyone thinks the Adams dream is dead. But after the offseason we’ve had, it makes sense to go all in. And the Jets GM just said a few days ago that trading Adams will he explored again after the draft. It’s still very possible.

That really the only spot left on the roster that is critical.

Yeah the one position the Cowboys haven't addressed this offseason. Sure we can upgrade other positions like Safety depth, RDE, and backup QB. But presuming
Only a few names out there IMO

Cordy Glenn
Kelvin Beachum
Jason Peters
Demar Dotson
Jared Veldheer
Jordan Mills
Marshall Newhouse (from Dallas)

I would imagine most of those guys will sign for starter money when somebody is injured.

The last 3 will be pretty low cost contracts. Top 3 will cost more probably in the 4 to 6 million range.

Jared Veldheer
Jordan Mills
Marshall Newhouse (from Dallas)

I did a thread plugging the rookies into the roster, for sure Swing Tackle but just looking at the depth chart I was thinking OG, RB and LB depending on who was available. Could definitely see Safety and QB, but I'm more optimistic on Aldon Smith and Randy Gregory than others are. This was the thread -

Starting next year you have $12-14 million in found cap dollars due to Frederick retiring. Now you have his replacement for 4 years on a 4th round rookie deal. So, let’s give that money to one of the best players in the league at our biggest weakness and get on with it.

Marshall Newhouse was drafted by McCarthy and won a super bowl with him his rookie year.

Joe Philbin was his offensive line coach.

Perfect. He is 31 and only had two seasons of making more than 1 Million but always made less than 2 Million.

We paid Cameron Fleming 2.4 Million in 2018 and 3 Million last year (we cut him when it was going to go to 4.5 MM) so you would think we could sign Newhouse. Great information, thanks.

Teams are always looking at free agents, no news there.

Doesn't cost anything to look...

I don't think we are going to have any major signings. I can't see us pulling a deal for Adams, or signing a guy like Clowney. I think we prefer to run with young guys, but we want a veteran presence.

I agree with the guys that think a swing tackle is in our future. Totally agree there. I can see us signing a vet TE, P to compete with Jones, and maybe another pass rusher (Matthews is a decent bet). A vet QB is a possibility....I'm not sure we were really in the Jameis sweepstakes, but a legit backup QB would make sense.

I have a feeling it will be more like a Clay Matthews signing vs a pricey guy like Griffin.

I really wouldn't mind Clay Matthews not what he once was but he can create havic
