Cowboys move up four to seventh.

How about them Cowboys? Jerry Jones and company did excellent work in the draft, finding value up and down the board. It might not have been the plan to select a wide receiver in the first round, but Dallas didn't expect CeeDee Lamb to still be on the board at No. 17. Question: Would the 'Boys have re-signed Amari Cooper to that massive contract if they knew Lamb was going to fall to them? We'll never know, but we do know that Lamb joins Cooper and Michael Gallup to form one of the most talented wide receiver groups in football. Elsewhere, Dallas added depth and starting options at offensive line, defensive line and cornerback. This feels like your NFC East favorite.

I am surprised we were even at 11th. Shocked they moved us up to 7th.

Can't argue the top 4, maybe top or 6. As I think Buffalo is a bit underrated by most. I question why is GB 8th. Pittsburgh as well. But I guess no other team worthy being that high. Could be the old media darling crap too. Maybe the Vikings should be higher, possibly. Colts seem high also, did the draft and Rivers move them up that much?

This harping about all our 'embarrassment of riches at WR is ominous.

Be careful.

If we keep blowing our horns on this..

sure as shootin' something is going to come along and change it.

So shhhhh about it

Ixnay on the high 5ingnay.

I'm superstitious about that stuff.

At this point I just see us equal to last year. To believe that Lamb is going to put out better numbers than Cobb in his first year is overly optimistic. 55 rec for 850 would be amazing for a rookie with the other options we have.

This is one reason why I wish the draft was after free agency. It would hurt free agents but sure would help teams out.

Dallas is dumb. They need to approach their FA to be a year before they become free. IF the guy wants too much money, you trade him. If the two sides can meet in the middle, you sign him and probably for a little less than what you would have by waiting until the week before he is free.

Cowboys seem to think that the tags are some kind of big bargaining threat for them.

No way should Jones been able to just walk free with no compensation.

WRs do tend to start slowly at times so I am torn here.
Cobb was productive but had A LOT of drops, a couple fumbles and probably was given too many targets because Cooper wasn't 100% healthy.

All in all I think Lamb is a substantially better player very quickly. Cobb had a rough few years before blowing up in this offense.

The whole concept that 7 draftee's, maybe 3 or 4 of which are potential starters, can improve us by 4 positions is mental and doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
That must be the new math.

I have to reread this.

Stop driving when you post, damn it.

Well, they'll fix that power ranking once the games get real. One of the dumbest things they do since those rankings have absolutely 0 impact. And a preseason ranking is the dumbest of all since we already know there will be at least one surprise team in the playoffs when this gets real.

And I surely wouldn't have MN behind DAL with that D.

The Fat Lady hasn't even gotten out of bed yet.

You have a point.

Somebody take the jet pack off CeeDee.

He won't need it.

Next.

Does a power ranking in the NFL ever stand up to scrutiny? It's just a byproduct of these sports pubs and nets having to do year round coverage. The draft mocks are over, time to move on to the power rankings.
