Afternoon Pops and friends. I guess I have a story to tell that I wish I didn't about Bailey. No need to feel sorry for me because I've done enough of that myself this week. She stopped eating two weeks ago and became lethargic. I thought it would pass after her appetite returned. When she turned down bacon, I knew it was serious. She saw her doctor Monday morning, was kept all day and released with a "not out of the woods" status that evening. She was back the next day and released that afternoon with "we've done all we can". I was given a tube of vitamins and calories along with steroids for her. Yesterday I spoke with the younger vet. From some other symptoms she has, he believes it's a brain tumor. I can't fight that and all the KFC in the world wouldn't help it. I didn't think the cruelty of 2020 would dare take Bailey too. I've come here every day, but wouldn't utter these words of resignation..

Thank you all for your entries in our Cowboys diary. I've enjoyed and cherished each one. Montanalo made me feel guilty about my big accomplishment of rearranging my sock drawer during the self isolation. As for Jan, things are supposed to be guaranteed for life at Bed Bath and Beyond if they can stay in business. I thought about it for your vacuum. I also suggest getting on their mailing list for coupons.

Last night was a special weather event that had me looking at our local weather man instead of the draft. I was not happy. I found myself looking forward to that "and the So And So Team has picked" music. I'd hoped every athlete picked would not feel required to compete in the unfortunate talent portion of the 2020 Mr. America draft with a song, dance or baton skills. Mr. Weather Man cut in and told me something was heading my way in a few minutes that was worse than a tornado. First I've heard of this. It was powerful winds that was in a 20 mile wide path coming with hail and rain. It came and sounded like the hippos from Fantasia dancing across my roof in cleats. I opened the back door to see what size hail it was and one hit me on my toes. Shut door and end scene.

Has anyone watched the people hand signing next to government officials? I think deaf people are getting better stories than we are. I don't think the one next to our Governor is signing what he says. Those hands are just doing different stuff than what I'm hearing. I imagine it goes something like this "Ok, he's just repeating what he said yesterday so I'm going to tell you about a Catholic priest, Jewish rabbi and Southern Baptist preacher at an inter-faith convention in New Orleans when the AC went out. Stay tuned tomorrow for the hitch hiking Aggie." Another signer would take a deep breath after each sentence then go to town with his hands. I'm afraid that one has a lisp.

Dabz! Git back in that boat and sink your teeth into Jerry where the sun don't shine! You have had your shots, right? I also like your upgraded mask. It's be-you-tea-full!
Sorry to hear about your little Bailey's troubles. My heart truly goes out to you.

Thank you for the kind words. I feel like a monster for preferring to have Bailey breathing over being put down. I kept thinking it was just an appetite thing, but the younger vet talked to me yesterday and said things which dashed all hope. He said she's behaving as though she has a tumor on her brain. The C word came up. I was rejecting his theory until he asked me some questions that I couldn't say no to. I'm going to link a picture of them if you want to see my babies. This was shortly after I got them. Sweet Mommaw is the blonde baby and Bailey is the little imp in front. They'd just finished all vet stuff before they could be adopted. I only got them because I'm a Cowboys fan and promised to raise them faithfully. No Saints propaganda in our house!

Very little tears me up as much as someone losing a pet, Runny. I'm sorry I reminded you of your baby. Coach, I always laugh at pet owners that go over the top only to do the same thing myself. I remember taking one of mine to the vet at the same time a lady was picking up her Poodle that had been groomed. Just the word Poodle with grooming attached has a certain connotation. She picked her baby up in the air and proceeded to fill the air with pride and joy most owners keep locked inside. "Hers likes having her nails done. Hers can go see people now that she's all beautiful again." You get the idea, now add several more compliments before leaving while bragging on her. I almost wanted to ride with them and listen to her some more. Get some ideas for my babies.
You know if your Bailey is suffering too much to be happy. I'm certain you would never be selfish about it. The hardest part is wondering if you're doing the right thing, when the time comes, and just the fact that you worry about that should give you your answer. You'll know when it's time to let her go.

Good Sunday morning to you Pops and all y'all.

Well, the draft is over and I will miss those guys in my TV. They were company and I enjoyed this draft better than any other. I am impressed with the way they pulled it off and I think Trey Wingo did a really good job of holding all of that together.

Beautiful day here, weather wise, and folks are already out and about here and it gets a little busier each weekend. It's nice not to feel isolated.

Another member has had a tragedy strike. Whyjerry lost his Mom to this in a nursing home, which carries with it a different kind of torment. I've winced every time I've read about those victims under those circumstances and their loved ones having grief stretched out until they can get any kind of closure. But now, it comes home and I knew if this lasted long enough it would touch us.

I saw this in the Cuomo nursing home thread in the Coronavirus Zone. It was in response to that topic so I don't think he felt comfortable doing what some do in looking for support and he started it out "I don't want any sympathy" and of course, I ignored that. Amazes me how we can feel for one another through just our words on something as trivial as a sports team site. And that, my fellow Popsters, is the essence and soul of this site.

Evening Pops and everyone.

Got outdoors today and did some work in MY yard. The flower beds were littered with those darn maple tree chutes, as were the gutters. I had asked the prior owner about those and she told me they weren't an issue. I knew better. I guess they weren't an issue for her because she never did anything about them! Nice neighbor offered to keep them cleaned for me. I offered to pay and his wife chimed in to say he needed something to do to keep him busy:D. I like her lol.

Mowed the grass. Front hill was a bit more than I should've bit off apparently. It's not steep and was going along great until the front hill. Landed on my *** 1 time. Mowed part way down then pulled it back up. Once that was done I went to the bottom of the hill to push the mower up to get the rest of it and mow the boulevard but the mower kept dying going up the hill (need a 2cycle for hills). Then when I gave up, I couldn't get the mower back up the hill so I had to do the walk of shame around the block to the alley. "Coming soon to a YouTube video near you. Gramma Jan falling on her (gr)***" lol (take it away, DABZ). Not doing that again. I've already arranged for someone else to do the hill going forward. I can do the rest of the yard.

I'm a good kind of tired. "Fresh" air finally.

Hope everyone had a decent weekend.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I'm sorry to hear about Bailey, Xelda. Her coloring is very similar to our Yorkie, Izzy. My prayers are with you. Today is grass cutting day for me if I can get my lazy butt motivated enough to do it. Maybe I'll wake up after a second cup of coffee. Take care.

Good morning Pops and friends. So sorry to hear about Bailey, Xelda. My heart goes out to you. I’ve had so many pets throughout my life and remember how much it hurt to lose them. I was 7 or 8 when I witnessed my dad accidentally run over one when backing out of the driveway. It was horrifying and the pain that followed lasted a long time. Hugs to you my friend, pandemic or not.

Back to work. Looks like the sun is waking up.

Have a great day my friends.

Maybe plant ground cover plants on the hill, so it never needs mowing?....or have it paved.

Good goooooooooood Monday morning Pops and weekend hangover folks.

Everyone bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning? If so, keep that to yourself as I'd just as soon not have that visual image of you and I have no idea how that saying originated, I don't think even squirrels greet each other with that in the morning.

Going to be another interesting week with some states trying to get back to work, Texas being one of them. I don't know when the resort is going to try and open or the response they'll get when they do but I will be most interested in the aftermath of that. We had 2 cases in Horseshoe Bay, both recovered now, but that was before thousands of out of towners descend on this burg and start socializing all over the resort. It will be a good test and I think I am going to go high on the hunker down through the first month of that until they get a read on this.

Please do "hunker down" until you're certain no symptomless carriers have come around! Regardless of what a certain someone thinks, no amount of alcohol in your bloodstream will kill the virus.

Good Morning or Afternoon, depending on your time zone.

@Xelda, so sorry to hear about your beloved, Bailey. I strongly suspect that, much like my wife, you're a wonderful and caring dog mother.... RIP, Bailey!

We had a great time camping - did i mention we stayed in a log cabin and not tents. The cabin is completely off the grid with power provided by both a wind turbine and an array of solar panels.

Walks in the morning and late afternoon revealed a couple of herds of elk (50-60 elk in each herd), prong horn antelope, mule deer and golden eagles.

The highlight of the stay (aside from wine in the evening) was target shooting with handguns. Much to my surprise, my wife is a natural Deadshot, with a pattern far, far superior to mine. And, supposedly, this is the first time she has ever held a handgun. I am beginning to think that her jokes about the KGB my just have some truth.

She brought her target home and intends to frame - no doubt to remind me who wears the holster in our family

Afternoon Pops. Afternoon Fellas and good afternoon to any and all who stop this way.

Well, another Monday. That means another start to the week and one week closer to Covid19 Freedom!

Smoked up some Ribs Sunday. Garlic Herb rub, followed by a mustard, Honey and Brown Sugar Sauce, threw it in the Traeger. Served up with some Cowboy Beans and Potato Salad and that's what we had for Supper.

Well, draft is over so now we gotta settle in for the long winter............

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, hope you all enjoyed the weekend and I am also hoping that all are off to a good start on this fine Monday workday!

Everybody, have a great day and an even better work week.

One step closer everybody. Hang Tough!

That certain someone was drunk when he thought that up.

I read you'd have to have the Isopropyl level of 70%, which is 140 proof so a certain someone should just go for Everclear PGA 190 proof and be virus free, breath free and heartbeat free.

Morning, Pops and all Y'all. Thanks for the heads up @justbob . Prayers sent. I finished my mowing yesterday, so that task is out of the way. Nothing is planned for today other than taking the trash out to the curb for pickup. I'll 'see' you tomorrow if my wife doesn't throw me out with the trash.

Morning Pops and all y'all. Getting ready to start opening up the state on Friday and this is going to be beyond interesting because it overrides any local authorities, which is a break from the norm and since Abbott lives in Austin and Adler is a thorn in his side, I think this was all about rendering Adler, the Mayor, impotent.

The real question is what businesses will open and will they come? The restaurants in Atlanta mostly ignored their opening because of the rules in place on this first go around of openings. They will track the cases and stats but I'd like to know how many people are really going out?

How's it going to feel going out to your favorite restaurant with a max of 25% of the occupancy and the staff in gloves and masks? And just how many employees is that going to put back to work?

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all of you who decided to stop in and check out the thread today.

Kind of a slow evening yesterday. Not much to report. I hope everybody is doing well. Was supposed to have he little guy today but my Buddy had an appointment this morning so no joy today. I guess we'll have to put the Grilled Hot Dogs on hold, for the moment.

So what's going on with you guys? Any good G2 to share with the board?

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, what's the good word today?

I hope everybody is holding up well. Stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy, we are getting better and better every single day people.

Peace.

CC, I’ve been craving Olive Garden. I’m going to ask for hand sanitizer dressing on my salad. Can’t be too safe nowadays.
