Why can't people be excited without have to be a "Dak hater"?

It seem you're the one with an ax to grind...
Spot on.

The QB looks very accurate throwing the ball, excellent movement and you can see that he has the swagger required for the position.

Interesting to see how gets on at training camp and in pre season games.

Great post!

I knew nothing of Ben. So I spent over 2 hours reading about him and watching some videos Saturday night. I have to admit I was blown away and couldn't believe there was no news about him before the draft. It was easy to see why he didn't make it to post draft udfa territory. This kid can straight up throw the football.

Rush has every reason to worry about his roster spot. In fact, I expect him to lose it. Much of how DiNucci plays reminds me a lot of Romo. The same Romo moxie we saw for years was on video. I'm thrilled with this pick and can't wait to see him summer 2021 after a year in the system.
Size and mobility is what I liked about him.

yup...and what better than having 1 good QB? having 2 good QB's. I love the potential that Ben has. Cooper Rush may get cut or be relegated to 3rd string.

I will say this about DiNucci. Now I'm only watching highlight reels and looking at stats but he sure looks worthy of at least being ranked in the QB class showing he exists. To my knowledge only Brugler had him on his list.

Exactly. I don't understand why people are supposedly not allowed to be positive about any quarterback not named Dak Prescott! If Prescott continues to be durable and in favour with the powers that be then if DiNucci progresses well but isn't given a chance then we could always trade him for some draft picks.

So it's win win.

Healthy competition is good any way.

I think we will keep 3 QBs in this kid is kept on the roster. You cannot have an undrafted rookie as your backup. We will keep Rush or another vet for at least one year, I think.

Definitely looks crafty, I like the romo comparison. However, that throw where he side steps and hits the first down is a basic play. Easy read on the blitz and he simply has to avoid the rusher before he gets it there. Easy throw.
Yeah, it wasn't spectacular, but the backfield fake was classic Romo.

I hope Ben is mentally tough, he will need it here. Fans will praise you before you step on the field and rake you over the coals if you do not perform this pre season. I don't expect much early on from Ben, he is a 7th rd pick from a small school. Hell it took Romo 4 years before he cracked the starting lineup. There is a lot of work ahead for Dinucci and it will not happen overnight. I do hope he proves himself as an NFL caliber QB but he will need time.

the guy has poise for days along with razor sharp accuracy. The ball placement is just crazy good. This may be our insurance policy in case something happens to Dak. I told you guys MM was gonna do this before the draft. He has a knack for taking a chance on a QB late. I like his thought process. This dude makes the QB room better.I think he can win games for us in a pinch. I know he's a 7th rounder, but I will say it now, he will be better than Hurts in Philly. We could even see a scenario where he ends up being SO GOOD, that we trade HIM 2 years from now for a boatload of picks. Dak is my guy...but man, you never can have too many QB's that are quality. Cooper Rush is on notice.
Really thought they would go for Morgan, but I go no problem with DiNucci.

Not going to waste anymore time on this he could have been a free agent and we would be having this same discussion. DiNucci brings hope to the Dak haters.
Yep. False hope just like Mike White did. Hopefully he's a good backup. I know Dak's haters are praying at night someone comes up and takes his spot.....glad we got Dinucci and not Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round though.

What I want to see in preseason is does he attempt to throw the ball down the field or will he be a Stephen McGee clone with the constant checkdowns?
One scouting review (while at Pitt) was that he was reluctant to take chances long, but acknowledged that he may have been hindered by the conservative Pitt coaching scheme. Same report said he lacked accuracy, had a big arm windup before throwing, and scrambled too soon under pocket pressure.
If that report was accurate, I would say he worked on his mechanics at JMU - because he looks sharp.
But, as we all know, college success doesn't always translate to the NFL.

I figure your right, although I think they will try hard to sneak him on the practice squad cause we need to go deeper at CB and DL. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play much during the preseason (if there is one), and take a longer look at Rush.

Sidenote, I know everyone says Romo, but as I said draft night....he still looks more like Rodgers than Romo, not saying he will be in either of those guys universe.
