Is Anae somewhat like Vontaze Burfict without the baggage?

No, not Suggs or Burfict.

Anae reminds me more of Ejiofor of the Texans, maybe Trey Flowers.

Suggs was a much stronger and physical player than Anae.

Suggs did 18 reps of 225 lbs. on the bench press at the combine.

Anae did 25 reps. Suggs was not stronger than Anae is in their rookie seasons.

Having said that, I agree that Suggs played very strong, and was a physical player. However, Anae is also a very strong, physical player and wins with power often.

Probably Takkarist McKinley. Anae's 40 doesnt really matter. His 1.69 shows he has very good explosion. His 3 cone drill like McKinley's was pretty bad. Very stiff. McKinley is also a high effort guy.

Like McKinley' we probably have a rusher with good upfield explosions, but too stiff to be experienced to rush from a 7 gap or maybe even an 8. However he should be an effective wide gap rusher. .

He looks like a good player to have in your arsenal as a defensive coordinator, but probably not an every down player
That is similar to the scouting I have read.

You can definitely cross out "fine". Suggs is a future Hall of Famer. He was the guy I wanted over Newman. Suggs was not only a perennial star, he made many big postseason plays as well. If Anae can be anything close to Suggs, we've struck gold.

His longevity has been insane and his value was definitely very high but he was never the best player on the Ravens defense IMHO.

All that said the "fine" was largely being sarcastic. He was a plus pass rusher every year for over a decade and grew to be hard to run on.
He was also my guy that draft as he had been so good in college, 3-4 OLB is my favorite position and my last name happens to be Terrell so I'm partial.
Newman is interesting because we drafted him at like 26 but then he played until like 45, lol.
So much for his rookie age concerns.

Yeah he is a beast. He has a non stop motor and hes violent with that alpha swagger. He reminds me of James Harrison from the steelers. A bigger version.

Hot take but he has potential to be DROY.
Dude produced all 3 years at a high standard and having the bigger DTs in the pros will be a big aid.
