This is a guy the Cowboys want to develop into a competent backup in a couple years' time. At best he becomes the next Brian Hoyer, Chad Henne, or Matt Moore.

In other words, let's tap the brakes on the DiNucci hype.
If he became a sold backup that’s a great pick to me
Anything above that is like striking gold
Odds are not many 7th rnd players make it
Most QB’s not taken in top 3 rnds don’t make it
So if he can become a Moore or Hoyer then great pick

I liked whites potential
He had the physical part
He didn’t have the mental part
If you can quickly read and react it doesn’t matter if you can throw it a mile

I think his keycard to the weight room was broken.

I heard he threw a football through a brick wall and runs a 4.19 40...and speaks Mandarin..
That's nothing. I heard he is so fast that one time he threw the ball 75 yards and cut it for a TD. He is that good.

Why at best? You either have the skill or you don't and he obviously does.

The question becomes, can he do it against the best and what is his mental makeup and confidence and leadership abilities.

IF you guys want to get a tickle...look at the comments about Mike White when he was drafted and look at these about Ben. Yikes.
Bruh, I thought Mike White was gonna be the backup. One thing I will say about Dinucci is he ain't scared to get hit like White.

Yes and he did so despite a pulled hamstring and a speech impediment . . . gotta love it!

Yet, I'm still hoping he eventually turns out to be a moonshot better than Cooper Rush … :D

I’m a JMU grad and football fan. If this kid tears it up in preseason...I mean really tears it up, then maybe we carry 3 QBs this year, but my guess is we will have no problem stashing him on the practice squad. Just because a couple other teams were bidding for his FA rights doesn’t mean anyone was planning to carry him on their roster....they could have drafted him in the 7th round too.

He's just a pet project for McCarthy, not intended to play in games. We'll see him play in the preseason and never again. Everyone needs to hit the brakes about any expectations with this guy. In a couple of years, Mike will trade him away four a couple of draft picks and then go get another pet project.
