With our holes in the Safety Department has to be Prime Darren Woodson

This is a fun exercise and thought it might make a cool debate.

If you could bring back one past player from the Cowboys and inject him into this year's team in his prime for this season only, who would it be?

As I mulled over the question, a lot of guys came to mind. I thought about the QBs of the past and while I would love to see Aikman's surgical accuracy with this team, I don't think we gain that much improvement.

I would love to see Michael Irvin back, but WR is already a strenght.

There are a lot of great linemen in Cowboys' past, but our line is already good.

So for me it came down to four possibilities:

Charles Haley
Demarcus Ware
Darren Woodson
Deion Sanders

And I decided on Sanders. I know we added a lot to the QB room, but I think Sanders locking down one side of the field would be lot of fun to watch.
Bill Bates and Kenny Gant:starspin::starspin::starspin:

Hands down it would be Aikman. He is the perfect fit with Zeke. Normally he isnt going to throw for a ton of yards but he is efficient enough to open things up for Zeke by backing off defenses. But with this group of WRs he would be unstoppable if teams did decide to take Zeke away. Your not gonna win a SB without pedigree!!

Staubach by a country mile along with Hollywood Henderson on defense!
I would take Lilly on D. Lilly used to run down RB's from behind. I don't think they did 40's back then, but from watching him, I'd put him in the 4.5 range. Athletic freak.

Staubach is the only answer that makes sense and it has nothing to do with our current QB. That man could carry a team on his back and he was (and still is) very passionate about winning. He didn't like the other team's players because they were the enemy. That is a paraphrased quote by him. Try finding that mentality in today's game.

Staubach was the better QB. Why would you say hands down? Why wouldn't you want the ultra mobile guy w/ the rocket arm who was considered the best QB in the NFL for most of his career?

Roger was freakishly good. Only having to face the juggernaut Steelers kept him from more super bowls. That and Landry strangely refusing to play him against the Colts in the Booboo bowl.

I would bring back one of my least favorite players of all time, Deion Sanders. I can't stand him but he would fill two roles, shut down CB and great PR, the Cowboys lack both and could get that done with one player.

Aikman was very efficient and works well with A running game. He doesn't need to get into a rhythm throwing. Staubach was a big play QB. I just like a QB that is more of a big tall pocket passer.

Aikman. He would do more for this team than any other player.

Maybe Woodson.

But Aikman would have the most pronounced affect. Especially behind this line.

Sanders. He changes the entire defense...and special teams. When is the last time opposing teams were terrified to kick in our receiver's direction?

We would be in Salary cap hell if we brought back sanders. He wouldn't come back cheap. As others I would go with one of our two legendary QBs. It is the most important position.
