1992 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game against San Francisco. I have never been that nervous when Aikman trotted out on the field and there was a little over 4 minutes left and we were up by 4. I was praying we would just run the ball and eat up the clock but Jimmy wanted to score. For some reason I didn't want that ball in the air but they did it anyway and Harper was off to the races. This is my all time favorite play in Cowboys history........

Totally agreed - great play in its own right, but made even better by being a sort of payback for my *least* favorite play of all time.

Same for me. It's hard to explain how I felt at that time. That was the happiest moment for me in NFL history. From what I can remember of course.

Second for me to the Hail Mary to Drew Pearson against the Vikings.

I was 9 years old at the time and started watching football just a year ago. Even though I remember watching the game because that's what my father was watching, I'm not sure I was a full on Cowboys fan yet. I think that started after Super Bowl 10 as I wanted them to beat Pittsburgh.

The play right before the Hail Mary on that video, which was like 2-3 plays prior in the actual game. That was the amazing play. Convert the 4th and 16 or you go home. I don't think the Cowboys had a single pass play for 16 yards all game. If they did it was maybe 1, 2 tops. Roger didn't have any time to throw all game. That throw and catch on the sideline was a combined masterpiece. On 4th and 16 in the mud with those purple bums knowing we're going to pass.

This should be a fun thread. I'm not going to participate any more than just to read all the posts.

To old farts like me, there have been so many it would be impossible to name my top 10!

I will say that winning the first Super Bowl in team history was full of great plays I will never forget.

hard to say there are so many perhaps the 99 yard Dorsett run is my favorite as he could be my all time favorite Cowboy. I know Jackie Smith will always be the one that irked me the most.

James Washington's fumble return for a TD in SB 28 always stands out for me.

When watching in real time that return seemed to take 5 minutes it was as if time had slowed to a crawl.

The game was tight at the half, Cowboys trailing 13-6, when Lett forced a fumble and Washington made a scintillating return on Buffalo's first series to tie the game. Cowboys dominated the rest of the way.

Had a huge house full of friends and acquaintances partying hard. I'll never forget it.

Is it just me or did Pearson not get his feet down in bounds on that 4th and 17 play just before the Hail Mary?
I thought that too but maybe it was a force out rule that has since gone away.

I thought the force out rule was introduced in the 80s but looking it up. I wonder because you see Vikings players point down at the sideline after the official ruled it a catch.
