What Grade would you give McCarthy so far?

I’ve been around Narcissistic personalities like Jerry most of my adult professional life. They all think they’re going to live forever. And why he hasn’t stepped down yet at 77.

He only changed because public opinion forced him to. He fought it all the way. His next puppet is already in place if this fizzles out.

If Jerry was that serious about winning he would have stepped down. Until then it’s more of the same to me.

He's not dumb enough to think he's going to live forever. Plus you think he's going to flat out retire and leave this team? He's here, that's never changing. You'll be waiting a long time. As much as I don't like Jerry or wish he would actually retire, I don't realistically expect him to ever do it. He wants to be around it, this is his team. But you are no doubt witnessing a passing of the torch. A lightening of the load. An owner taking on less responsibility and trusting his 'team'. He's already proven in 2 months with McCarthy that he isn't wearing every hat. Things are no doubt changing for the better.

Since that blessed day, that the Clapping Carrot was fired/not re-signed whatever.

What grade would you give McCarthy since taking over, from the hiring of staff through FA and the draft?

Personally I give him an A
Guy has done zero and you give him a A, let’s wait till his first year is over before anointing him.

I mean he gets an A, but it means nothing because so far the only grades in the gradebook are for attendance points. He has yet to have to do any of his actual coaching duties so as of yet he only has attendance points.

Whoever is responsible, I'm giving the Cowboys FO an A thus far.

As an old teacher, yeah, he gets an I.

He's the kid in class that has potential, absolutely is making the right moves. But we have to get to midterms before I know what's up.

I'm optimistic, but can't grade out.

Heck he gets an A just because he isn't Garrett. It will be really nice going into a season knowing we have a chance at truly advancing rather than knowing without a doubt that an unqualified "coach" will screw it up. TBH, I have been excited from the second he was announced as HC and he has done nothing to curb my enthusiasm.

I, incomplete. I am not crazy about his hire at DC, the problem on the team besides ST and he made a good hire there.

McC at this time is like Booger saw Aikman, he looks good in the shower.

That sounds kinda like that creepy neighbor on Family Guy with the freezer full of popsicles in the basement...

He isn't Garrett. That's an A+, a gold star and the ring of honor. This isn't an Uncle Jerry situation. Nice to have hope back that's for sure. Been gone for a long time.

What a hypocritical statement. He’s leaving but he’s not going anywhere. Lol

Fans have been saying he was passing the torch to Stephen cause we were making better personnel decisions. Now it’s McCarthy.

Some fans are so desperate to believe he’s not as involved because if they didn’t they’d have as little hope as I do. And it’s not something they could accept.

He's here, not as involved. You can choose to believe otherwise, but you're already seeing it. You just refuse to acknowledge it. This isn't the nepotism situation of Jason Garrett. Some crap coach under Jerry's bosom because his dad worked for him. lol Playing the mentor. You're fooling yourself. Have no hope, I couldn't care less, but if you refuse to see the difference between what an actual coach can bring to the table than keep on with the torches and pitchforks routine.

I refuse to believe it will be enough until the results come in. And it seems to bother you for some reason.

I guess you’re used to having some kinda of powerful influence over others if they don’t see it as you do.

Based on nothing else but having the sense to draft player over system he already gets B. If he elevates Dak game and they win game or two in playoffs he gets A.

I need to see wins.

ive also been very critical of some of the coaching hires/decisions.

the DC, OL, DB, and Assisnt Head Coach hires are not good.

loved the draft. But how much of that was WillMcClay and what kind of input did MM even have?

so let’s see some wins first.
