For a 2021 2nd rounder?

I could see a team like GB or SF wanting to trade for him.

Or do you want to keep the depth since he is under contract for this season and next?

i just don't get why some keep entertain trading Gallup away.

what is the purpose of getting the fortunate position to draft and well develop a productive guy.. only for the sake of trading him away for picks ?

Now? No.

However, once the season gets underway and a contender has a top 2 WR go down, hopefully in the AFC, I would entertain an offer from a more desperate team. Especially one with a GM/HC job on the line.

What if the Saints were to lose Michael Thomas for the season? This is, most likely, Brees' last season and that window is open now, they might give up a 1st in 2021.

What the Cowboys need to do is keep Gallup relevant as the 2 and not try to wok Lamb in ahead of him and reduce his value. I do not think they're going to renew Gallup when he's up.

We've had these trade discussions before and I do not have a sacred lamb, even him. It's all about the value of what they're willing to give up. The problem I've had with this team is that the Joneses are not good traders. I wouldn't send them off to the village with the family cow.

I was on record wanting to trade Ware, Martin and Romo if the weight was balanced on the Cowboys side of the seesaw.

Apparently he’s another player fans don’t want to see get paid. It seems like the majority of fans on this board don’t want to pay our best players. They want the entire team loaded with players playing on their rookie deals. If we traded Gallup, Lamb would move to # 2 and we would have to use the pick we got for Gallup to fill the hole in the slot. We would enter next years draft with a need at WR. Why anyone would want to break up the three headed monster we have at WR is beyond me.

Right, let’s trade him to San Francisco or Green Bay and help them get even better and leave ourselves a hole we’ll have to fill with the pick we get for Gallup. lol

It depends.

Does the team have someone on the roster right now, besides Cooper and Lamb, who has proven he shall provide same or better production than Gallup?

I believe the answer is no. Is your answer to the question yes? If yes, who is the receiver?

Weaken our strength, and strengthen one of our competition.

Super plan.

KC proved once again that teams can't have enough weapons.

Because they have their payroll tilted on the O side and they do not have a playoff D. Do you think they can pay the QB, RB, WR, OL and a WR#2 in the top 6 paid and field a good D? They will have 6 of the 11 on O in the top 6 paid at their position this season. Paying players in the top 6 is contagious on the Cowboys, think Gallup wouldn't want and deserve some of that himself?

When they picked Lamb, I'll bet he already saw himself gone from this team and probably wants a shot at a #1WR and that money. Some here say he's not a #1 but they don't know. A lot of #1's didn't start out there like Steve Smith, Michael Thomas, Davonte Adams and Antonio Brown. Alvin Harper got his shot and so will Michael Gallup.

With the salary cap going up every year they can manage to pay all those offensive players. The highest paid player we have on the team currently is a defensive player and he ended up having a down year. To field a good defense you need good players and a scheme that fits them. We’ve struggled for years defensively trying to find the right combination of players and scheme. If Gallup knows anything about McCarthy he didn’t consider himself gone when we picked Lamb. McCarthy uses a lot of 3 WR sets and moves receivers around. Amari, Gallup and Lamb are starters.

Gallup isn’t a number one receiver at least not now. He showed he wasn’t ready to be a number one receiver last year against the Jets when Amari went out. He didn’t step up in that game and he also had several drops last season. One of the main reasons he’s developed into a solid receiver is having Amari on the other side. If you want to be a great team you have to find ways to keep your best players. You can’t move on from players because they’ve developed onto real good and are going to have to be paid. If it was up to some here they would be looking for cheaper options at all our key positions and either trade our best players or let them walk.

I think people have this romantic notion that we can pull off another Herschel Walker type trade.

Why would you trade a proven successful player in the league who is extremely young, has proven nfl success and in his rookie contract for a likely lower skilled player, an unknown and has never played a down in the league? Give me a 1st and 2nd, then swap the better of the 3rd round pick with a so so or lousy team then i bite.

this hits the nail on the head...so far they didn't/don't want to pay Dak, Galup, Zeke, Lawrence, Cooper, Martin, Smith, Smith, Collins, Jones, (he was bum I read many times) and I am sure LVE is going to get on this list soon too.

you are right, they just want players on the cheap and on rookie deals......

I doubt the Cowboys could get a 2nd round pick for him. That's what teams were willing to give for Cooper - except for the Cowboys. Gallup is a good but not great receiver who has a tendency to drop the football. I bet teams would offer no more than a 4th for him.

I mean, if someone offered something stupid like 3 firsts I guess I'd have to take it, but there's no way I'd be looking to trade him.

Disagree and NE has disproven the theory that you have to pay everybody.

Not moving on from players is one of the main reasons for failure to balance and manage the cap.

Here's the fallacy with the cap going up and being able to afford to keep all those offensive players. The cap goes up for every team and so does the pay per position, so it is relative. A team still has to balance their cap and limit what they will pay per position. If you didn't have teams doing that, you wouldn't see high priced FA's on the street.

The secret to Belichick's success for so long is his adherence to his formula. He was willing to trade the GOAT QB to adhere to it. If he wiggles over it one year, he has the plan in place to wiggle back the next year,. as he did with Brandin Cooks. The other thing that separates him from the Cowboys is that he anticipates these challenges and acts before he can be acted upon.
