Demarcus Lawrence and Taco Charleton both had the same number of sacks last year. One is very good. One is unemployed.

That's why something like PFF is so useful. People that "don't believe" in PFF because it's not perfect are dumb.

Of all the players with 5 sacks, DLaw had the highest number of pressures and Taco had the lowest number. Just counting sacks is a very small part of the evaluation of a DE, especially when DLaw is one of the best in run defense.

sad we drafted him over TJ Watt. Just sad. We could of had our DE position looking good with TJ and dlaw.

wonder if Taco just not a team player(terrible attitude for his skill level), always late to meets or slacking during practice. I mean what is wrong with the guy. It has to be something. Released from a team in back to back years. Something is wrong. Wonder what it is.

I approve of pointing out the flaws of (ab)using one stat to prove a point.

Easy to say NOW.

THere's never any guarantee. Sometimes an expertly graded top choice busts. Sometimes a reach excels. But certain always hindsight is 100%

That's one first round pick that's going to forever sting.

Followed closely by Hill.

Thanks, Rod.. Just.. thanks.

I'm giving Hill another chance. He only had one year with Rod. Thankfully, he gets an upgrade. Let's see what they can do with him.

Alright, that's out of the way...let's sign a cheap Jadeveon Clowney or Everson Griffen and offensive tackle Cordy Glenn.

...this team is really thin on the edge and could use an immediate upgrade. Glenn is an established player that would give the Cowboys short-term insurance until a younger player is capable of handling the job.

Glenn is more than capable of stepping in and handling the job for a significant amount of time. Pro Football Focus had his overall grade as a 68.4 Which was almost ten points higher than last year’s swing tackle Cam Fleming.

Miami Dolphins waive former first-round pick Taco Charlton - South Florida Sun Sentinel - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The Miami Dolphins’ offseason roster makeover continued on Thursday with the release of a former first-round pick.

The Dolphins waived defensive end Taco Charlton, ending his short stint with the team after joining Miami last September.

Charlton played in 10 games with five starts for the Dolphins, totaling 21 tackles (14 solo), and leading Miami with five sacks.

But he eventually fell out of favor with the Dolphins coaching staff, ending the season on the inactive list instead of playing in the final four games of last season.

Damn.........this is bad

They are judged on sacks which is why they get paid so much money. Taco must have really struggled against the run. He only played 10 games last season starting 5 of them. Post the link providing the stat where he graded out.

The fact he was inactive the last four games tells the whole story........kid apparently has some major attitude issues. What's worst is I'm sure former teammates and coaches have tried talking to him but chose not to listen.

"I think going after Taco in the first round gives us a defensive end that we feel like has upside, that's athletic but can also be multiple. He played right end, left end, can play inside, can mismatch guys on the inside. He had four different positions at Michigan. The right kind of kid. He's got size, he's got length – that helps us there. When you go down from there, the pass rushers that fit our scheme, it started to diminish a little bit and you had to kind of compromise who we are as a defense. It fell the right way there, and then there were some quality corners that we felt like could help us improve and they fell that way."
