When its Nucci time to get paid hes giving a discount? Oh ok
real responses tho from most past reports it seems like the 2 sides are at an indifference over a couple mil. You gonna pass a chance at being the face of Americas team with real Super bowl level talent and goals over wanting to get paid 35 or 36 mil instead of 33 or 34 mil a year? The money you get for being the face of Dallas is huge because your pretty much the face of American sports at that point.

The Cowboys botched this.

They should have signed Dak right after the 2018 season ended, before Wentz got his contract.

Dak had a more reasonable agent back then. They could have offered an overly generous contract and would still be paying less then they will have to now, plus the never-ending distraction could have been avoided.

The agent works for Dak, not the other way around. IF Dak said take the deal, the agent would take the deal. It's Dak this is trying to hold the Cowboys hostage. He knows he is an average at best QB but wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL's history.

Any Player hires an agent to look after his interests when it comes to negotiating a contract, Daks trusts his ability to get a contract that's in Daks best interest, that's why he hired him, he's comfortable with what the agent is doing in negotiating his new deal, so Dak will listen to his agents advice..

What about when Trubisky, Allen, and Darnold outplayed him badly?

And you think he outplayed Rodgers? Lol
Dak - Allen game: Dak passed for over 100 yards more and for an extra touchdown.
Dak - Trubisky game: Dak passed for 90 more total yards and less interceptions.

Only one that performed better statistically was a healthy Darnold who had just returned, fresh and healthy after having weeks off to get his body right. This game still came down to the final drive of the game in the redzone.

Also he did kind of outplay Rodgers. I was in Dallas for the *** whooping that we made respectable towards the end in garbage time. But even in that game, we got ran over on the ground, Rodgers didnt do anything special. We didnt have an answer for the run at all. Cant ignore that Dak tossed for double Rodgers total yards and nearly 500.

Frustrating how some writers twist the title to their articles for click bait attention, which gives fire to the haters if they lazily refuse to read the article.

Cowboys EVP: We'll sign Prescott 'at the right number'

This is what Stephen Jones truly said:

There has been no movement on a long-term deal with Dak Prescott, but Stephen Jones isn't worried.

The Cowboys' vice president expressed confidence in his team's future with Prescott as its quarterback during an appearance on SportsCenter.

"Dak's our guy," Jones told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt, via The Athletic's Jon Machota. "No one thinks more of Dak Prescott than Jerry Jones and myself. I know (coach) Mike (McCarthy) when he signed on, part of why he signed on was Dak Prescott. It's just getting it done.

"The bigger these deals get, Jerry and I have always found that to be the case in business, the bigger the dollars get, the harder they get. We believe in our track record of getting players signed.

"I totally believe we'll get Dak signed at the right number that's good for Dak, good for the Cowboys, good for this team. And I think at the end of the day, the fact that we're getting some nice hype for our draft, I think he's going to want to get in here and get with these players, whether it's CeeDee Lamb or anyone else. He wants to win."

well hes not just an avg qb.

Everytime he's play the "elite" guys he's played with them or even better. He's outplayed Rodgers, Goff, and Wilson in his playoff games. Its not his fault the defense couldnt stop the rams or packers. Daks rookie yr he was great in close games winning on late drives. Then from 2017-2019 the offensive coaches tried to get cute and them close games started to go the other way.

Dak deserves to be paid higher than Wentz and Goff because he's played better and has out performed them. Its not his fault the market is overpaying QBs.
nah deserves whatever his employer feels hes worth..no set numbers for any player, its a negotiation and for sure dak is not better then wentz , they are in the same ballpark, so more is bs narrative..no one deserves anything when we are talking 30plus million you get no sympathy from Joe average public..

he is above average but thats where it stops hes top 10 and wants top 1-3 money or more..NO way hes that QB, if you think that you need to get some air..those fumes are messing with your reality..

he was offered top 5 deal and IMHO that great take it get more in 4-5 years..

It really is ridiculous how long this is taking.

It’s really not that surprising if he’s asking to be the highest paid player in the league. Many are reporting he wants $40 million per. Obviously the number he wants isn’t the right number for the Cowboys. If his demands continue to be unreasonable he’s going to have to play on the franchise tag this season if there is one.

umm discount in what way, theres no set amount hes supposed to earn, anything he gets is a massive raise not a discount..2 mill to 33 is discount lmao..top5 money for a top 10 player who might be 10 at best?? sure keep those dak goggles on tight.. getting 105 mil fully guaranteed sets him for life is not a discount..if he actually was paid what hes worth and goes for the rest of the overpaid qb market he should get like 18 because no FN way hes 2,5 times better then Zeke or twice as good as the best DT..sorry Charlie many dudes in nfl top 100 dont make half what dak wants..FACT

DC FO in no way shape or form owe dak a new market setting deal hes not elite and wants to be paid like kit..

Cowboys had Dak at a discount for 4 years. After his rookie year that tied a franchise win total, the next year his no.1 WR was playing injured, took away his RB with avoid the suspension B.S., and let almost the entire defense walk to free agency (reminder your 13-3 QB is on a rookie deal). The next year they cut his no.1 WR, let his no. TE retire, let other defensive players leave for free agency, and lost his no.1 C to off field illness. Then last year they sign no one to help Dak on offense or defense, they regress any TE progress allowing Witten to return, give a the OC Job to a 1 year QB coach, and kept a Head Coach that lost the team 2 years ago.

So please tell me, why would Dak Prescott trust Jerry The Dumbo GM Jones with a long term deal when he did nothing to improve the team during Dak's first 4 year long rookie deal? Only thing Jerry got for the Dallas Cowboys during Dak Prescott rookie deal was a Jerry Jones tricked out Cowboys Bus and a Jerry Jones billionaire Yacht.

So Dak go get your money Lil Duffle bag boy...

It never gets old: “Dak will be signed any day now and you haters will be crying!” - Dak slobberers for going on 600 straight days

LOL....yep having watched D-Law, Zeke, Coop, get paid and Dak on the Tag bus is driving them bananas!
No GM in the NFL will give Dak a TOP 10 contract including the worst one in the League ....Jerry.

Now back to waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting...
Dak will have if he's lucky Winston's fate....

P.S. As you are all aware how bad Dak handles pressure wait till he kicks off with the Tag hanging over his head.
Mama mia it's going to be blood bath for us and Dak!

What's there to trust? A contract is a contract. The parameters are already out there.

Dak wants 4 years so he can seemingly cash in again sooner. Cowboys want 6 years to spread the cap hit like the Eagles did with Wentz and Rams did with Goff. The Cowboys are on the right side of this, not Dak.

Just on ESPN today..per Dak he doesn’t play football for the money. Maybe he’s just easily influenced by his agent then but I doubt it. Straight greed..I mean 100 million isn’t enough and your gonna argue over 1 year difference in contract term?

I think Dak knows he can’t fool them for 5 years but might be able to stretch it to four.

Just because Jerry overpaid Romo doesn’t mean Dak deserves to be. Neither have earned anything other than garbage time stats and some epic highlight reels.

He should get the same contract as Wentz.

They’re pretty much dead even as QBs. Drafted the same year. Half the people think Wentz is better, half think Dak is better. It’s a lot simpler than what it’s being made to be.

I actually blame Dak for this one.

I don't claim to know enough about what has been discussed, so I'm not assigning blame to either party.

I doubt anyone here is privy to the negotiations. We hear/read snippets and jump to conclusions.
