They can easily work around that. Not all of his endorsements require him to wear his jersey lol.
QUOTE]

Yes. They can.

But his main recognition is in a Cowboys uniform.
Not is street clothes.
Not in an unmarked football jersey.

The endorsement companies will swap out teams like underwear if Dak left...

People sleep and eat in other States where they have football teams too....

Yes. Quite correct. They can and always have another to put in his place.
What's todays favorite flavor.

Is the tag money guaranteed? I honestly don't know. If I'm Dak's friend, family, agent...I get that signing bonus money in the bank...now. It just seems like a huge risk with everything, including the start of the season, in flux.

Understood but Dak gets paid regardless if they shoot commercials or not. Not only that but they don't shoot the commercials until later on in the season so they can be played during the season.

Fans here hated Dak since day 1. So his contract won't change their attitude anyways.

That's a pretty broad brush you are painting the fan base with there. I think a pretty good majority of the fans of the Dallas Cowboys like Dak and like him as their QB.

It is the very vocal minority that do not.

I for one was a huge Romo supporter. I hated all the negativity that was spewed about him all the time. Then he gets hurt (again) and Dak takes over. What a stroke of luck it was that we had Dak. The season wasn't over because of a Romo injury. When Romo was healthy again, I wanted him to get his job back. You don't lose your job to injury, right? Who knows what would have happened if they would have put him back in, but we stuck with Dak. It ended up the same result as other seasons. Romo retires, end of story. Dak is now our QB for the foreseeable future.

Anyway, fast forward a couple of years, and Dak has had some ups and downs here, but, again, I think most people like having Dak as our QB. He has built up a good bit of goodwill capital with the fans. Yes, you have the very vocal minority who don't like him for whatever reason, but I believe Dak has won over the majority of the fan base.

Now the contract, it is time for this to get settled. I believe Dak is using up the capital he has built up. I don't care about owner vs player, all most care about is the Dallas Cowboys and what is best for the Team. They can't be that far apart, can they? Does a million here or there make the contract that much better/worse. It's time for egos to be set aside and get this over with before he has used up all his capital.

Let's go Dak/Jerry, get this done.

Dak did, despite a 4th round entry, what many 'rook' quarterbacks fail at doing...being successful and a leader from the start. No, he wasn't a finished Staubach, Aikman, or even Danny White...but he survived and was successful at a strong level, even being a 'rook.'
I think people are forgetting Dak gave reward at low cost, low expectations, and untimely injury to Romo. Dak simply trying to cash-in due to market value. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that....it's the environment....The owners cut players at will, the player has to have some kind of bargaining chip. Some on this board don't want players to get paid but owners grabbing all the money.

Not a dang thing! This is a blind DAK HOMER! a reverse hatest. That will love Dak as QB no matter what he does, like JJ loved Mr. hand clapper.
I don't understand this childlike idea that someone must love or hate a player. Just because I think he's been average and not worth a big contract doesn't necessarily mean I "hate" the guy.

Its also telling that fans have no idea what's being offered or what the contract actually is but the first reaction is to blame Dak and his side.
We have some pretty good ideas from reports what the offers have been and what the demands are. Have you not seen those?

Hers a refresher if you’ve missed them. I’m not allowed to quote our Dallas paper directly but some of these quote it. You’re free to google to view directly.

Cowboys Resume Talks with Dak Prescott, Make Substantial New Offer: Report
Multiple reports emerged Wednesday stating the Cowboys have re-opened contract negotiations with Prescott. Local and national insiders piggy-backed off a “whisper” from Yahoo Sports fantasy writer Liz Loza, who claimed the sides are “close” to a four-year agreement worth $35 million annually.

NFL Contracts: Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Demanding $40 Million
It appears that the Dallas Cowboys and franchise quarterback Dak Prescott are at an impasse in contract extension talks. It was previously reported that Dallas had offered the Pro Bowl signal caller $30 million annually on a new deal.

Now com this report from NFL Media’s Jane Slater indicating that Prescott is demanding what would be a league-record $40 million annually.

dak is sitting pretty imo! jerry, stephen, and every one else is all in on dak so if he wants to maximize his earningings (which he should! i just dont think the cowboys should pay him but it is too late now) why shouldnt he just sit back and chill and let his agent get all he can and the contract length he wants. jerry will cave and give him every thing hes asking for and everybody knows it.

cowboys want to make dak wake up go sign cam newton and tell him he can compete for the starting job.

"Wake Dak up"?

Oh I get it, Dak hasn't been trying to win, or get better, he's just slopping through his NFL career, right?

Of course Dak wants to get paid the max but any fan who wants and is hoping for Dak to get paid the max and to maximize his earnings at the cost of Cowboys cap is a Dak fan not a Cowboys fan

it’s not complicated
I’m curious if these fans believe Dak should be the highest paid QB in the league which is what he’s basically asking for surpassing Russell Wilson’s deal?

Cowboys alleged offers would make Dak top 5 paid.

I have. I've also seen "reports" in the past that were lies.

I'm a Dak fan but I personally don't care what he gets. Cowboys have the money. They have everyone locked up they need to for the next 3 years...money isn't a issue.

That’s untrue. Everyone on this board was THRILLED with Dak his rookie year. He played simply amazing that year. He has regressed since then, when we all expected that he’d improve. That’s what has soured half the fan base on Dak.

If you think "everyone" was thrilled about Dak in 2016 you weren't paying attention. Even after the regular season there were lots of folks clamoring for Tony to start the playoff game, and especially after the playoff loss, lots wanted Romo to be returned to the starting job in 2017.

Not really, take a look at his stats. Improved some areas, about the same or less in others. Take a look at other QBs, you will see the same.
He seems to have regressed mostly from the lack of good coaching and team play. Yes he has had his bad moments, as all QB's do.
Give him a chance with a real staff and plan.

His worse regression last season, was more INT's. How many were him, how many bad tipped balls and bounces, from WR drops. But they still count. As many will say otherwise.

Its not about what I think "should" happen. Its about coming to grips with what WILL happen and I've come to that a long time ago.
