I never said it was all Emmitt. It was Emmitt and everyone else on both sides of the ball as well as the coaching. As well as Aikman.

But whenever Aikman didnt have all his weapons or his Oline wasn't HOF caliber...………...he didn't win diddly. Could barely get the job done.

Aikman needed a top level line to keep everyone off of him. He was NOT nimble in the pocket or savvy. Stood tall and hung in there, but he was not good at avoiding the rush.
Aikman would light it up in this offense in today’s NFL

With his weapons and with a competent coach, I think Dak has a shot at breaking a lot of passing records. I hope they go to a ball control offense, but I think MM is gonna air it out and Dak will be the BEST QB in Cowboys history...

Dak should have a great year.

Put any of at least 3-5 other Cowboy QBs into this offense in 2020, and they would be better.

  • 3 stud WRs 25 years old or younger.
  • A top 3 RB.
  • A top 4 NFL oline
  • HC know for producing big numbers in the offense
It's an almost (not quite) unheard of setup for any QB, and Dak is more than capable of taking advantage of it...as he should be.

If he and the loaded offense does their part, and get strong help from the other units...look out.

I've been watching the high & outside and low in the dirt passes for 4 years. Dak is no Romo and isn't even a shadow of Aikman. Dak has had
weapons and still loses the big games against big teams. Nope, Dak has been measured, he has been weighed and he has been found
wanting.
Those road loses to New Orleans, New England, the Jets and Philly still resonates within my soul. The defense kept the Cowboys right in those games but Wak and the boys failed us on offense.

Romo, Aikman, Staubach and White would all break franchise records with those weapons AND the Clapper out

This might puts pressure on Dak

"Better" is an interesting concept... in some ways White was better than Staubach like Romo was better than Aikman, but I think we'd all take either of those "lesser" guys again. That being said, Dak will break records, and I hope he beats White and Romo in SB wins by a mile!

So is your expert opinion that Dak should have won a SB by now?

Aikman and Staubach did in their first 4 years.

I mean since you are comparing things in posts above, figured I would compare another one for you.

Then again in Romo's first 64 starts he had 1 more regular season win, 1 more playoff appearance, 1 more pro-bowl appearance, and 1 more playoff win than Dak's first 64. Another comparison. So I suppose it still could go any way from here.

That said, I believe and hope Dak will get there.

I am very curious to see how he does under McCarthy and company. I cannot express to you guys how excited I am to see Garrett finally gone, though, I will always wonder what could have been had Romo had a competent coaching staff at any point in his career after Parcells.

Add Ware, Witten, Dez, Lee and a few more to that list

Thank you, Jerry
