Wow! I do like Dak, but if this were a totally fair camp competition it would be very interesting. Surprised the Pats did not scoop him up. How old is Dalton now, 33 or so?

With this offensive personnel, could Dalton move this team just as effectively as Dak?

Yep.

Things just got interesting. Better not struggle, Dak.
They are the same player so of course he could. That's very nice of Dak to get on of his football brothers a job. Just have to work on Alex Smith if he comes back to make it complete.

I love this move. While I am a Dak fan, (and I think he has upside) I think he is being overly greedy at this time. The signing of Dalton not only give us backup insurance in case of an injury to Dak, it really lowers the short term leverage Dak would have if he elects to hold out.

Love this signing. We can make the playoffs with Dalton and maybe even make a run if Dalton gets some good MM coaching AND some pro bowl line protection this year.

It would be great to see Dalton full in for Dak, set the world on fire in the time he is there and us net a 3rd round comp pick for him when he leaves nest year.

Dalton is a guy who has not ever had a good team around him. This signing has SIGNIFICANT UPSIDE. Low risk too.

It’s not just hold out insurance. It probably is somewhat of an incentive not to play under the tag, too. If Dak goes down and Dalton plays well with the same roster off the bench it both let’s Dallas know what replacement scenarios would look like and hurts the perception of Dak’s long term value by suggesting maybe it was the weapons and not the QB.

No worse off than we are with Dak, love it. Dalton could easily take us to 10-6.
