So Dak may feel a little heat here. Dalton is a capable QB. If Im Dak I dont want to hold out and let Dalton learn the offense while Im sitting at home playing with my pud.

I love the fact MM doesn't mind putting pressure on his starter and pushing him to be better. Which is exactly what this move does in my opinion.

This is most definitely a new era in Cowboys football.

I am not a Prescott fan, but it is pretty clear you have a horse in this race.

Are you talking to an imaginary army of Dak Slobberers only?

What about others who actually don't really hang from Prescott's jewels yet don't think he could step right in and replace him?
I would say you are worried about nothing. Unless age has somehow caught up to Dalton (unlikely, he's been relatively healthy and is only 32) then I assure you he can also stand in a pocket all by himself, hand off to Zeke, and throw TDs to wide open guys (against WASH and NY only).

I followed Dalton in college. Let me say I was impressed. Actually, he has only been with one team also and did a lot of carrying for that team. Lets get him a star and see what he does. It would be a waste to not to give him a try for the top spot,
Sober up lol

It doesnt make sense. And dak/coop shoulda been signed last offseason. This is holdout insurance. I dont think negotiations are going well

Two things:

1) I'm glad they didn't sign Dak last year. All along I felt we were smarter waiting, to get more tape on what exactly he was as a QB. If that meant his value skyrocketed, fine. I'd much have preferred that than the alternative. I still stand by that.

2) Is it the Cowboys' fault if negotiations are going poorly? They've made an earnest offer. It'd be foolish to write a blank check. Dak is gambling for the bigger payday, and that's his prerogative. But it's also the team's prerogative to have a cap on what they think he's worth.

Whoa. They ain't messing around this year

I think its a very good signing. If Dak went down with an inhury I believe Dalton can win games for you with the team we are building.

I am a little surprised he would take a year and $7 million. In Dallas. With a QB that has been durable.

I guess he wanted to go back to Texas, who knows?

No starting offers, so why not?

Great backup signing. Don't want him as a full time starter but he should be able to get us some wins.

We couldn’t find any more white safeties to replace Heath, so we’re giving Dalton a try.
