I like Dak, I like Dallas more. Let the best man win. Its Daks job to lose, show up to camp and work your tail off. Be the better player, which I think he is. If he cant do that, then no hard feelings let Dalton play. This aint about pet cats, its about the Dallas Cowboys.
If Dak signs a tag making 30+ million, he ain't getting beat out even if he's clearly outperformed. No, this is clearly a leverage move... "Dak, either sign this long term deal at our favorable terms, sign your tag, or sit down at home like Le'Veon Bell and gamble that a three time Pro Bowler can't also be propped up by a bunch of All-Pros leaving you forgotten by October."

I crack up at some of these posts that think that Andy Dalton will be our starter. Andy's been garbage for a couple years now. And...some say he was hamstrung with bad coaching like Dak was with Garrett. Well....what do you think Dak's gonna be with better coaching? Especially after the numbers he's put up for 3 years. Smh. Andy Dalton was paid just like a $3m guaranteed backup QB. Good move to have a veteran backup for spot duty. Nothing more....nothing less. For some of you...keep fishin!

God I can't wait until Jerry sees this team ball out in 2020, so that the old drunk laments having the Garretts, and Linehans, and Marinellis, and Rob Ryans employed here for so long.

MM over here doing grown man things with this FO.

Seeing the Dak bots on here and twitter in shambles alone makes this signing GOLD :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I dont get it. Anyone that genuinely believes in Dak shouldn't be tripping. If anything this move helps Dak be better.

Its about the NFL where most roughness is not necessary.

Now if Dak has a sprained AC joint and there is a division deciding game to be played... we won’t have to stick a QB with an injured throwing shoulder in to play.

How can anyone be upset about this. The team needed a backup QB just in case something occurs.

I have been really critical of the FO since Jimmy left but this move makes sense. Mike and the FO are conducting a solid job this offseason. Still need a pass rusher but I’m impress with signing Dalton.

Dalton is smart.

$ 3 million guarantee this year. Probably won't be a NFL season so he'll be collecting all his signing bonus without breaking a sweat and back on FA for next season.

I would imagine the contract has a covid out clause
