I think it's a bit of a nudge...remember they had leverage so we thought with Zeke? We really didn't have leverage though. If you are Dak right now, there is no way you aren't a wee bit concerned that you aren't getting the $$$ you think you are. There was no hardball to be played with Zeke and Zeke knew that. We don't know how good Dalton could be on a team like this, and by signing him Dallas can play hardball if they want. I think I repeated myself 3x, lol.

I think this expedites Dak signing is what I mean, haha.!

Actually, there was hardball to be played with Zeke, especially the way that schedule lined up. They wouldn’t have steamrolled those first three teams to go 3-0 with or without Zeke last year. But Jerry isn’t the negotiator that he once was.

Now if McCarthy really wants to fat flex he'll peddle Rush for a pick.

Great signing by the Cowboys. It's nice to finally have a decent backup QB. Now if Dak tears a ligament in his throwing shoulder and breaks a finger in his throwing hand he won't be force to play.

Hmmm, you're taking it well Rockport...

Dez is out of pocket

1. Never watch another man’s pockets

2. Romo had a stipulation in his contract that meant he couldnt be franchise tagged in 2013. He had ALL the leverage back then

3. Romo is 100x the QB that Dak is

Riiiiiight...Remember when you said Dak ended Dez career and that without Dak, Dez would return to form? Good times...

Are you talking about the Cowboys? Why would this be a bad move? I think they will get Dak signed, but if I'm wrong, they have a solid option, and if I'm right they have one of the best backups in the NFL for a year.
Aside from the money, this is a strong move that has virtually no negative repercussions other than making Prescott fans anxious.

If you look at this for what it really is and stop it with silly assumptions, it is an aggressive move for a backup and a possible trade chip next season before the trade deadline.

O im not worried about andy dalton. The fact Dak still doesnt have a deal done is upsetting

I'm not really bothered by it. Since they tagged him, it's really not that likely that he'll get a deal worked out until camp is close.

Last year with Lawrence nothing got done until it got to time that he had to get his surgery done in order to be ready for the season.

As long as there is still times both sides like to keep pushing for the best deal for them. When time starts running out, they start making concessions.

Why not? We needed a better backup than Rush. Now we have a legit #2.

I think it is a home run signing. If this upsets Dak, he needs to find a new line of work and I REALLY don't think it will. If Dak who I think he is, he'll welcome Dalton as well.

The more I think about it I believe Rush will be released soon so he can go to camp with another team. You have what's his face, Dalton, DiNucci and Thorson. Why take 5 to camp? Rush has no route to the backup gig and you're not going to carry him as the 3rd QB. Too much money.
