Some folks are whining that Jerry paid Dalton before Dak... NO. Jerry signed a high-quality backup QB to a VERY team-friendly contract

Dalton's guaranteed $3M is between AJ McCarron & Chad Henne guaranteed contracts (Practical Guarantees)

IF he earns the full $7M for the year, it'd put him between Mitchell Trubisky & Daniel Jones for the year.(Average Salary)

If we're talking total contract value, he's between Drew Lock & Jeff Driskel.

It's backup QB money for a better-than-average backup QB.

From 2 years ago? I remember that game, Dallas couldn't stop the run. Dak was sacked 3 times (Zack Martin) didn't play. The Colts ran all over us. Dak didn't have a great game, but he didn't play that bad. But even given that he had a bad game, all QB's have bad games occasionally. All of them. Cowboys had 9 penalties also. Just a bad game by everyone.
That colts game and broncos game from 2017 you’ll never hear the end of. Dak haters hold on to those games like it’s their last dollar.

It's all they got. It's funny watching them doubling down on their ignorance. Entertaining.

Not gonna lie I think that was a great move by the Saints. Winston is not without talent. Put him under the right coach and mentor and you may end up with a QB1.

I would have been happy if we had signed Winston as a backup, but going to New Orleans was a better move for him considering Brees' age.

Here's a look at his vs. Dalton's career numbers:

Dalton is a career 62 percent passer with 204 TDs, 118 interceptions and an 87.5 rating.

Winston is a career 61 percent passer with 121 TDs, 88 interceptions and an 86.9 rating.

Rapoport's a hack.

Now this makes sense.......kept reading of him probably signing with Jags coz Jay Gruden is their OC and his former Bengal assistant coach. Hell, he could likely start for Jags. So the fact he wanted to come back home must be legit.

O trust me, there are plenty of others we can bring up. PLENTY
Plenty of good games to bring up too, the man has a winning record. I’m just talking about games where the whole team laid and egg that are constantly brought up as an indictment on Dak solely. The whole team was so out of that Broncos game it was palpable across the TV set.

Still just mystified that a transaction like this gets people to jumping to conclusions that are not real.

Great move by Jerry and Stephen , this was timely . Dak will now have to either sign a team friendly or move on . The Dak slobberers are not happy of course , but Dak put himself in this situation .He mis-timed his demands and overrated himself . He choked against good defenses and quality teams and went 1-6 against winning teams last year. A 35 million$ a year offer was more than generous , and he turned it down. Showing no leadership or sense. The Cowboys have called his bluff.
Everyone is happy no matter how big a Dak fan. We have a real backup QB finally, not one person should be mad about that. Amazing move by the FO.

Last season 27 QB's with 300 or more pass attempts

Dalton ranked 27th in passer rating. 24th in completion percentage, 23rd in average yards per attempt, 22nd in INT's.

Congratulations on finding the only veteran starter in the league that Cooper Rush can actually beat out for the backup job.

Meanwhile, Dak in contract limbo as Jerry Jones throws three million dollars in the trashcan.

Take a year off. Get paid. Smells like win.

I don't know what to think about signing Andy Dalton, but if Dak struggles at all, the fans will want Dalton on the field.... and boom! you have a bonafide quarterback controversy on your hands.

Preseason with Dalton and Nucci will be soooo much better than Rush/White

Well, as much as I've enjoyed all the DiNucci stuff and hope he turns out to be a find, he could easily end up being our next Mike White.

Quarterback is one of the hardest positions to project on this level.
