Dallas, really has the dumbest fan base. The grass is always greener; maybe the Eagles or Jets, would be a better fit for most.

So which quarterback would you have gotten that is better than Dalton?
I would have just rolled with DiNuccii that was just drafted. Dalton is a proven loser. He is terrible in the playoffs if we need him during a stretch run. The best shot Cincy had at winning a playoff game was when Dalton was injured and McCarron was playing. We are now going to pay him a minimum $1 million more than Dak made last year to ride the pine, probably never play, and probably lose if he does play.

Orton shouldn't be listed in the company of Kitna & Dalton. All that guy wanted was a check. He had no interest in trying to win games.
Exactly, I would have to go back as far as the Steve Beuerlein era.
Dalton gives this team that type of talent.

Your gonna roll with a Team considered by many to be in the top 10 in the NFL and almost assured of making the playoffs with a 7th round rookie QB? Me thinks that wouldn't be a move any GM in the league would agree with.

Yeah, I am. This team isn’t winning with any back up
QB so I’d ratter the position be filled with a potential future starter than someone on the downside of their career, especially one who isn’t good. If they were serious about the position they would spend a little draft capital in it though.

This is an awesome signing. Dalton never had much help at receiver. It was always just AJ Green. Once they got to the playoffs all teams did was double AJ Green and it was over. Guys like Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert never panned out. Chad ochocinco and TJ Houzmenzadah left the year before he got there. John Ross didnt help. AJ Green has been hurt the last two seasons so he relied on Tyler Boyd who did well with two 1000 yard seasons basically in the absence of AJ Green. If he had two receivers capable of getting 1000 yards like we do I really feel he would of had a way better career. Dak is definitely our present and our future but if Andy had to come in I have no doubt he would have a field day with guys like Cooper ,Gallup and now Ceedee Lamb with a RB like Zeke behind him and an O Line that only gave up 23 sacks last season. He has pretty much NEVER had that. I love having Dak but if he went down the train will keep moving. Great offseason by the cowboys

Andy Dalton and Kellen Moore had some pretty hard fought battles in college.
I'm sure that Moore knows what his potential is and will make him better.
I think Dak's agent is reeling right now. Any leverage he might have thought he had just disappeared.
Dalton is better than Dak, more seasoned, and accustomed to working with a whole lot less than what he will have in Dallas.
Dak had better sign his tender while it's still available. His bluff just got called.

Great signing IMO. Dak will easily beat Dalton out but at least should Dak and agent stay stupid this gives them a chance to complete

I thought for sure Dalton would have ended up in NE guess it’s Cams gig now

Dallas will continue to try and sign dak. But at least they have some leverage should he hold out of virtual workouts, potential otas or even training camp. Does this really need to be explained. It can't get much simpler.

I love this move. While I am a Dak fan, (and I think he has upside) I think he is being overly greedy at this time. The signing of Dalton not only give us backup insurance in case of an injury to Dak, it really lowers the short term leverage Dak would have if he elects to hold out.

Love this signing. We can make the playoffs with Dalton and maybe even make a run if Dalton gets some good MM coaching AND some pro bowl line protection this year.

It would be great to see Dalton full in for Dak, set the world on fire in the time he is there and us net a 3rd round comp pick for him when he leaves nest year.

Dalton is a guy who has not ever had a good team around him. This signing has SIGNIFICANT UPSIDE. Low risk too.

Totally agree!
