Dallas should rescind the franchise tag and let Dak walk

It’s not true, and it definitely doesn’t pain you to assert it either.

Dak gambled on himself and lost. No monster contract and now 2 Qb’s recently added.
well, he gambled that he would make more and not sign a $24M offer before 2019..... now he has a 32M salary for 2020. and probably a $38 mill for 2021.

I find it amazing that people tend to think they know more than Jones, McClay and McCarthy on what Dak's value is in the market and that he won't have any suitors....you all should just pool your money and buy the cowboys and run the team.

Yes, it is. Dalton gives the Cowboys leverage. A plausible alternative to use in negotiations.
If you wanted leverage Cam Newton would've made far more sense. Though I do like the Dalton signing. Would much rather have him than DInucci or Rush for sure.

Wait how did Dak lose?

I keep wondering why they don't. Or at least go buy the Cleveland Browns they should be cheap. These Madden GM's know more than the professionals.

Name the potential suitors not listed in my post. I’ll wait.

There's a good chance that Dalton will fare far better than he did with the Bengals. Having much better overall support means a lot.
or he is what he is, a QB, with some talent who can never get over the top. he had some very high level close to HOF talent around him like Green and Johnson and could never get even one, a single play off win. something is missing. he folds when the game is on the line. but he is great insurance and great back up to have on the team. its not unprecedented for cowboys to have done this, as we had Peete, and Bernie kosar, both of whom were starters, but came to dallas later in their career and provided great back up options to Aikman.

Quite arrogant though. You’re not very good with opinions, are you?
Stupid ones? No. And I'm hardly arrogant. I told you I'm as stupid as the rest of you....how does that make me arrogant? Makes me honest and a realist. If it makes you feel better I use to feel that way when Romo was here........but it seems like the stupidity got magnified when he retired.

He’ll be our franchise QB. He’ll make a ton of money.

You all will deal with that fact.
Again, you’re missing the point. The Cowboys can rescind the tag and still sign Prescott to a reasonable multi-year deal after he tests the market and sees that only the Jaguars and maybe the Raiders are willing and able to pay him. Rescinding the tag doesn’t mean he’s done in Dallas.

Trade him to jax for ngawoue (sp) sign cam and let him and Dalton battle it out
let two QBs who have never won anything and have choked and one has been constantly injured over the past few years to battle it out...I guess all you care about is win the battle of the contract and claim you won by not giving out a contract....I guess winning superbowls doesn't matter to you

I love Dalton as a Horned Frog, but anyone who thinks he’s better than Dak is nuts.

Daks contract will get done on July 15 just like Dez did in 2015.

Daks leverage is just the same because his agent will say “you want to roll with Dalton as the starter and then draft one next year, you can say goodbye to any super bowl hopes for at least 3 years”

This teams defense isn’t good enough to have Dalton as the starter win more than 7-8 games
Agree..

Bro not everyone thinks Dak is great. Accept that and quit calling the fan base stupid or bad.

Realistically, he's there to replace Rush in the event that Dak renders himself late. he's not about to replace Dak -- that's just reality.

Right. People are trying to recreate the narrative. And I actually like Dalton probably better than most but there's some notion that anyone can play with this team. Like it doesn't take talent. People use to say that about Demarco Murray. Anyone can run behind this line. Not the case. You still need talent.

Andy Dalton had some very talented teams. Its funny the narrative is now that he didn't. Maybe in the later years for sure but he had arguably one of the best receivers in the league when he was healthy.
